stock injectors

how many pounds of boost can I run with stock injectors

0 psi.

If you look at most stock maps, the injectors are already near 90% duty cycle to begin with on a stock motor…

Ive seen guys run 6psi on stock B18 injectors with chipped ECU’s

…which is a waste of time & valuable funds.

IN ORTHER WORDS…Don’t Do It!!!

6 to 8 pounds ''with a fmu ''10.1 or 12.1 is fine. meaning 10-12 psi of fuel to 1 psi of boost .on a small turbo like a stock dsm or wrx something with an internal wastgate.16g ect.it will work.this is the oldschool way to make boost.now that tunable ecu and piggyback systems are now here.that is an unsafe way to boost.becouse of the hoses and clamps on the fuel line ,hoses pop and cause a fire hazzered.but this is the way to run your stock injectors.

thanks alot i have a chipped ecu will this work to push more fuel aout injectors and i also have 255 fuel pump

you can have a 50000lph fuel pump and wouldnt make a difference if ur injectors arent big enough…hence the reason u need to change ur injectors.

If you up your base pressure you can get away with smaller injectors, but considering that they nearly hit 100% duty cycle on the stock maps, you’d seriously be stretching the limits of fuel pressure, even with half a bar of boost.

Say no to FMU!!! seriously i’ve had it with these pieces of junk. do not buy one. ur stock injectors will never supply enough fuel to keep you from running lean. sorry but cutting corners with the injectors is just not an option. u will max the stock injectors out and we all know what running lean on a turbo setup will do. also if ur running a stock engine say good by to your pistons (they love to melt when things get hot) with injectors prices these days and a chip/ socket kit, combine that with chrome or what ever tuning program u want, it would be foolish to run stock injectors

I recommend getting some 450’s or 510’s. But personally, until I get my 510cc injectors rebuilt I’m running my stockers with a higher base fuel pressure (regulator@75psi and I have a walbro 255lph-hp). Tuned to a max of 90% duty cycle, turbo at 8psi boost daily, 11.5 to 12.1:1 AFRs, no problems - but I do know how to tune and I run a wideband 24/7. Hate all you want, I know its not the ideal setup, but it works until I get my injectors rebuilt.
