Im a little new to turbo but know basics and all the claims". I did a compression check then leak down and the results were: 185 give or take 5 for compression and about a 10% leak down test at 100psi… Im shur you guys know but that to me is showing a decent motor with slight ring/cyd-wall wear but ok for low boost with a good tune of course. Just wanted some input on what you guys think. No its not my daily and no i dont have enough $$ to go forged. Want to know if you guys would recomend new tighter clearance bearings and gaskets ect. mandatory for 200 hp build. Im planning on using dsm parts just want to see what you guys think and if ls/vtec is the only option to attain 200hp on a budget.
I would say if your doing a stock internal build, shoot for around 250-300 whp. If your leak down test went well, then your good to go up to 300 whp. Pick up some DSM 440cc injectors, hondata s100 and t3/t4 turbo. Most of the parts your going to be buying for a “200 whp build” will get you 250-300 as well.
