KYB AGX and GR2 combo is the best, but a little pricey!(AGX are adjustable) I have KYB GR2’s all around and it’s perfect for my needs! I’m dropped on Eibach Sportline, which lower about 1.8", a camber kit is recommended, but not absolutely necessary.
About 2 fingers. (I only have one small finger in the front, but it’s not normal, I bought the springs used, so maybe they were cut, the rear is normal with 2 fingers)
answer: are they stiff? i was thinking about gr2 and the eibach pro. its a 1.4 in front and 1.0 in rear. at first i was going to go agx in front but i read if the front was too stiff it would cause understeer or oversteer. something like that just gives me another headache. dont really understand what that means. can anyone explain that to me in a detailed down from. thanx
Originally posted by Louie55 oh yeah. i saw somewhere they got shock boots. cant find where i saw them at anymore. are they nessesary?
u mean the thing that covers the top of the shock that goes in and out of the shock body so that dirt won’t get in? well on u can make one easily, but if it ocmes with it then that’s great, it would be nice to put one on acsue it does add a bit of protection
yeah those boots that do some covering. i’m too lazy to make one and no idea who too either. how much would those cost? are they really usefull? dont know about dirt but when i see a puddle of water from the rain. i just run over it faster so i dont know if it would help. yeah i kinda abuse the car but it seems fun.
Sportline are a little stiff, but nothing incredible. The ride is great and you get awesome control! The most annoying thing is my lower front, this makes the ride a little more harsh. But you won’t have this problem if you buy new ones.
can someone explain understeer or oversteer and how is it caused? like if front was stiffer the rear? dont really understand what that means. can anyone explain that to me in a detailed down from. thanx
I don’t know much about understeer and oversteer. All I know is that understeer is when your in a turn and your front wheels lose traction and your front wheels slide forward instead of continueing to move the car through the turn. Oversteer is when your in a turn and your rear wheels lose traction and your rear end begins to slide out. I hope that helps a lil bit. Most front wheel drive cars have understeer and most rear wheel drive cars have oversteer.

the suspension (as well as tires, tire pressure, and overall car rigidity) will help determine how exactly the car steers. Whether it be neutral, over or under. Driving style, technique, and the actual corner also play a role. You can tune your suspension however you want it to handle. Stock our cars understeer pretty heavily (but not as bad as some cars), even with basic suspension mods our cars usually still understeer a little, but sometimes if you really work it you can induce oversteer. But our cars can be made to oversteer quite easily. Shenrie has progress coilovers, progress rear sway bar, strut bars, and good weight distribution. He said that his car oversteers very easily. And i’m sure with his autox experience he can get the car to handle just about however he wants.
thanx for the info people. i guess since i’m not getting any big mod or anything like a race car. no matter what i do there will still be over or understeer right? guess i’ll probably get all gr2 with eibach springs. or if there prices are low i will get agx for front.

most likely understeer. But really it doesn’t take much to get a really good handling car. get good shocks, good springs, a rear sway bar, and some good tires. Do some tuning with shock settings and tire pressures, and you can get a really good handling car.
I love how my car handles. All i have is skunk2 coilovers, tokico illumina shocks, rear st sway bar, rear strut tower bar, and some sticky tires. I’ve been working on my technique to try and squeeze out some oversteer. its getting there, but still my car handles great, i love it.
Where is the cheapest anyone has found reliable suspension products??? The best place I have found is tirerack.com…anyone else with experiences/prices from other sites? Thanks
Also, anyone know why KYB doesnt make adjstables for the rears of G2s?

When i asked them about the adjustables for the rear they said for the g2 they had a problem with the rear so they didnt make them.
i got the agx for the front and gr2 for the rear. they are better and stiffer then the ones that were on there. the ones that was on there was tokico blues with H&R springs. the springs seems to be fine but when i push the piston in for the shock. it came back out really slow and i do mean REALLY slow. i guess its blown right? i also saw that only 1 of my tires was weared in on the inside. i asked the guy who put in my suspension if i need an alignment. he said that i dont need one yet. i should let my tires wear out then just change them and get an alignment. driving seems to be fine and it looks ok like the wheel does not curve in. the question is, do i really need an alignment now? how can i tell if i need one?
