How can I non-destructively remove that “Integra” sticker from the rear of my 1990 Integra GS?
The lettering dried out and is flaking off like crazy but the adhesive is still going strong. I’ve tried sporadic applications of goo-gone but that doesn’t do much and i’m afraid to leave anything on there becasue it might screw up the paint (original paint, btw). It’s just gets sticky and collects dust. I’d like it completely removed.
I tried a search and couldn’t find anything that helped.
I did it on my 90 Integra also. I peeled it off and then use generous amounts of goo-gone to remove the adhesive. Then washed and waxed the car, making sure to wax the new area well because the goo-gone leaves it a little dull. HTH

if it still doesnt come off. try to use some light sand paper and wet sand it off. forgot what # was the sand paper i used but it worked on some sticker the person before put on.
i took mine to a do-it-yourself high pressure car wash spray place and pointed the gun about a centimeter away from the sticker and it came off like butter.

what he said (or insert ‘heat gun’ for blow dryer :D)
If you’re careful, you can use a razor to do this … did it all the time as a detailer … takes practice tho (on other people’s paint lol). And run over it with a cut polish and wax, and you’re set … what color is your teg?
Nice post R2-G2. Lacquer thinner will not eat away at your paint. I repainted my car using a lacquer based paint, and still will spot clean extremely gooey areas with it. Turpentine is even more powerful than that! Oh well. Sucks to be people using sandpaper and high grit rubbing compounds, -really- doing a number on their clearcoat.
dude a lacquer based paint is a type of paint “lacquer THINNER” (notice the “thinner”) thins out the lacquer (removes it) buy a plastic razor blade its a really hard plastic shaped like a blade to remove crap like that u can get it from autozone i believe
A lot of autobody shops use paint thinner to remove overspray. personally i’d use the clay bar method for that, but what I’m getting at is that usually thinner won’t hurt the paint unless it’s pretty fresh. still makes me cringe though
