hey guys,
just wondering if there is any kinda of product or method for taking off black spray paint from my intercooler…I painted it to make it look like a sleeper but now I want it back the way it was…any help would be appreciated.
why not just use some laquer thiner in a spray bottle and take a hose to it.
aircraft paint stripper the spray should do great wonders. let it sit and pressure wash what you can off and reapply till your done.
I would be real carfull using high presure water around the fins for the intercooler. if they are anything like my aluminum radiator. they bend out of shape realy easily, and there goes it cooling efficency.
try this stuff it works really good, just spray it on let it sit about 10 min. and hit it with the hose and the paint will fall off,you can see it bubble and lift right off the metal.
yea thats praticly the same stuff im talking about. yea now that i think about it the high pressure might bend the fins. a good rinse will do.
You could try soaking your intercooler in Coke I know a lot of people who used it to take the paint of golf clubs for a bare mental look it might work i dont know but i know for a fact it works on golfclubs and it might be a bit les toxic then aircraft stripper!!! you will obviously need a large flat container and could probably only do one side at a time unless you want to try it with a lot of Coke!!!
