TDO4H turbo- restrictor?

I am going to be running a TDO4H greddy turbo and was wanting to know if i need to run a oil restrictor? I know that most people do on a T3/T4 but what about a TDO4H? Also where does the oil feed line run to on the motor? Oil pump?

Come on, Anyone??:bang:

no, on the restrictor part.

Thanks bro!

what about the lines anyone know where to run that?

you bolt the T into the bung the oil pressure sending unit is, then screw sending unit into T, and line feeds off it.

^ Thats confusing! I know where the oil return runs(thats easy)! I basically bought this turbo off a guy and these are the lines that he sent me! He only sent me the oil feed line and some other sort of line tap? Heres a pic!

Oil feed bolts to the top here with banjo bolt!

Oil return on bottom!

I just dont know where the oil feed bolts on to the motor and what these other pieces are?

do you know what the oil pressure sending unit is??? its the part that screws into your block on the backside beside the oil filter. he left it on the setup for you so all you need to do is find it on the back of the block, unscrew it, and screw that T fitting into the hole. thats it.

You’ll also need a 23mm deep socket and small hands to get back there behind the block and to get the sending unit off so you can put the “T” fitting on. Assuming of course the sending unit in the pic you posted is not the one from your car but the one that came with the kit you bought.

It is a 23mm right?

Thanks guys! I am not sure if its 23mm? Is that the size of the hole? I have another b18a motor out of the car sitting at home so i will look to see if i can find the sending unit! Also does anyone know what the little aluminum fitting is in the middle?

its actually 24mm (15/16") but yeah, thats the hardest part of the feed line really. also, nomatter what anybody tells you do not use teflon tape on the fittings, use threadlocker blue, teflon can come off and clog the feed line ruining your turbo.

Damn, thanks man because the guy sent them to me with teflon tape on them!

Hey while i am at it i have a adapter plate that allows me to fit this tdo4h turbo on a t3/t4 turbo manifold! It is made of aluminum! Just curious if you think the aluminum adapter plate will really hold being how hot the turbo and manifold get?

I don’t know man…I would be constantly worried about that piece if I was driving around with it.
My suggestion just for piece of mind would be to find a steel version of the adapter and use that instead.

it’ll be fine.

Ya, i have had alot of people tell me both, its fine and change it but i will try it! Besides the turbo is made of aluminum alloy isnt it?

not the hot side, no.

i’ve seen on homemadeturbo, pictures of one of those aluminum adapter plates and it melted away.

Yeah, i know the hot side isnt, but the intake side is–

Are you serious about it melting away?? Where can i find one then to adapt a t3/t4 turbo manifold to a TDO4H turbo? I know that the temp melting point for aluminum is 800 degrees right? And the exhaust will get over 1000 degrees right, but i had alot of people tell me it would be fine! But to be safe then sorry i would rather get a steel one! If anyone knows where i can locate a steel adapter as the size above states then i would appritiate it!
