I’m not sure yet, at least, on which transmission I’m gonna get. I know I’m doing the swap. The B16 would be cool but honestly it’s probably going to be whatever comes at the best deal. I’ll keep you guys updated for sure. Sadly though, the thread’s probably gonna have spiderwebs growing on it by the time I get another update
well im sure one of us will bump it up to make sure you dont fall to far back. Good luck on that tranny mishap
Ha thanks man. I guess since G2IC isn’t as strict as T-I on pics, I’ll post some of the Civic that way you guys can approve it, lmao
Wow, Man what a great thread and build. I guess through all your headaches you have learned a ton. Thats what I tell my self when stuff goes wrong. Like today… Just found test my alternator, and I will need a new one. Anyway. Whatever tranny you get let me suggest 2 things to keep in mind. 1st B16 trannys all grind 3rd or 4th. 2nd, keep in mind final drive ratio. I have a ys b16 tranny and around 75mph on freeway I’m at 4500 or more rpms. Look into an s80 or something close.
Tranny info
Hey man I found a good write up on what I am talking about. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info and the heads up!

Cleannnnn DB1! Nice work u got done to it looks great check out my Jasper Green DA sometime
Also, how’d u modify the sunroof to tilt? I wish mine did, it would make DA’s look even better
It’s an Aftermarket sunroof, unfortunately. Damn thing lets water in whenever there’s water on the roof and I slow down. Just rolls right in and onto my passengers head, lmao
whats up with the hotrod in the garage.
My dad was doing some work to it. He was building door panels, dash, trunk, ect. Most of it fiberglass. It’s a bad ass car man
So I was supposed to go to two junkyards this past Saturday, but because they close at 12pm and my soccer game got rescheduled to 10:30am I didn’t get to. Which, in turn, meant I didn’t get to go to IA today . That’s life though. I’ll be at Import Face-Off on the 22nd though. Anyways in the mean time I got bored and did this:
Car loks great but that fitment of the lip kills it
Haha yeah it looks like shit. I got the wrong one I believe. I got it off an Accord but I think it was the wrong year. I’ll go get another one whenever I get some money. Then again I might just save up for a JDP one
Alright so Greg (dad’s buddy) at Go-Autoworks found a guy who’s got a LS tranny for sale, so dad called him up. He’s got the tranny and ECU, but he thinks it might be bad. He said last time he had it plugged in it was throwing a code for vacuum. I think it’s probably fine and it was just the guy’s car. So we are getting the tranny and ECU for $150 and Greg, I believe, has the shift linkage so I just have top get the pedal assembly, clutch lines, shifter, interior plastic, boot, ect. I’m really just glad we finally found a tranny. We’ve been searching for months haha.
Ok so today, seeing as it’s my first day of summer, decided to go ahead and clean the disgusting new tranny. So far, I’ve found out that:
grease-covered tranny + oven cleaner + pressure washer = you being really dirty
I’ve been bathing in Gojo outside with my water hose for about 15 minutes and I’m still covered. At least the tranny’s pretty clean now Pics in a little
So, I think I’m starting to get tired of how “boring” I did my car. I mean, everything it either painted black, silver, or just cleaned up. I think I still have some of my OEM paint left over. Going to do the moldings a VC that color. Probably going to try and sand/polish my intake. Probably leave the intake mani alone. Thinking about getting a Megan header in stainless.
Really, I’m just tired of all the paint. I’m ready to put some bling on her. Nothing crazy, just something with a little shine. Stay tuned, I’ll be getting a job within the next two weeks so I’ll finally have money to buy things.
