Teggykid Running Log *New Wheels*

Yeah it goes up, I just don’t think it should be that easy. Someone else told me it’s supposed to be difficult, but possible. Idk, like I said when I get the bracket it’ll all make sense. If nothing was wrong that’d be great because I can’t think of how I would have done it wrong

Note: when you get the bracket and cable on, you will have to tighen it and then at some point you will see the clutch arm pivot slowly. Then you will get in the car and feel for resistance meaning (Throw out bearing pressing on the pressure plate) other people call it clutch cover. Whatever, you get the drift. By doing that you will notice how much free-play you have on your pedal. Less than a half of pedal of free-play, or just a bit. Some people tighen the shit out of it and don’t have any free-play. I like to have around 1/4 of an inch of freeplay on mine.

I just checked mine, with no cable installed but the tranny is still in the car, so I went to check it out and it went up about an inch and a halve or two, give or take, not 3 or 4 inch like I had thought . Anyways’ You should hear a smack(like a clunck -metal sound) or something like that when you push up on it. It’s kinda hard to describe it without being there. :excite:

Yeah no I can pull mine all the way up and nothing. Fuck.

Alrighty went and looked at it again. Noticed that the arm was hitting the ground that I had put where the bracket to lift the tranny is at. Moved it and it looks like it has a little more room to go before it stops. I grabbed a chain I had laying around and attached it to the arm in hopes of seeing if I could pull it all the way up. I think I managed a little. It was hard to tell. So at this point I’m feeling a little better. Still not 100% sure. Just need that bracket haha. Can’t wait until Monday

Alright well the tranny situation is straight. I went and retried the chain technique and I got the clutch to engage. It was a lot harder to pull than I expected. So I’m good to go now. Waiting on the bracket and I have to cover up the holes inside, which I’ll probably do today. Can’t wait until Monday!

So I finally got sick of the shitty lip that was on there and just committed. Made me a Home Depot lip, haha. Didn’t turn out too bad but I have my doubts for its durability. Also, started back on the interior a little bit. Covered the holes and sealed it all up with some JB Weld. Accidentally bought steel instead of aluminum, so I gotta use some seal spray on the bottom so it doesn’t rust. Here’s a couple pics.

This.

lolz^^^

I don’t see the problem?

Maybe that is the problem…

Simply find it odd that the picture was thrown in out of nowhere, nor did it have an explanation regarding it. A bit out of place and, if I may say so, creepy.

FINE. This is my friend Grant. He owns a Morph Suit. I own a creepy mask. Morph Suit + creepy mask = above picture.

Wtf ??? ha ha … :giggle:

Well everyone, the time finally came. I haven’t updated in a couple days, but since then I took the car on its first test run. Everything went pretty smooth. I have a couple concerns, but so far nothing incredibly serious as far as I can tell. So here’s the cons:

  • 3rd gear downshift crunches/grinds
  • car shakes under normal acceleration around 20-40 mph (any ideas?)
  • sometimes tranny crunches going in to reverse

Besides that everything is great. I need to diagnose the shaking problem so if any of you guys have any tips/advice that’d be great. So far I’m thinking I just need to get 300-500 miles on the clutch and see if it’s still doing it. I think I may have gotten the flywheel dirty upon installation. Could that cause this? Thanks for all the help to everyone. Hopefully once I get my tag and insurance tomorrow I’ll get some vids/pics of her.

Wheels/wires out of balance or off-center?

Forgot to mention I had it aligned shortly after I installed the bracket. Though, on of my wheels up front it more worn than the other, so I’m going to switch least worn to the front and most to the back and see if it helps

shaking could be unbalanced axles…and use snycromesh in the tranny and make sure clutch is properly adjusted

I’ve got the cable set to a small amount of free play before the throwout bearing hits the PP to keep it from wearing. Also, my 3rd gear crunch stopped? I even threw it in gear hard and it didn’t do it. I’ll keep you guys updated if it comes back. About the axles, they’re almost brand new. They are remans, but I was using them before with no problem?
