So I’ve been tearing apart the car again haha. Got my ES Hyperflex kit in with the RTA bushings as well. Been working on the front but hit a snag today. The aftermarket anchor bolts the previous owner put in to offset the camber use smaller bushings than the stock one’s, so my new bushings aren’t going to fit and the ones these things have are crap. So I’ll probably make a trip to Pull-A-Part this week since some new tegs came in and pray I find a set. Other than that it’s been going smooth. Also, when I put my new intermediate shaft in, I got another reman axle since mine were lifetime warranty. Already clicking around turns. I’ve decided I’m going with Raxles when I get some more money and I pay my dad back for the $200 worth of bushings haha. Nothing but a money pit, this car. Still love her though
It’s a money pit for sure. I just spent about $2,000 on a transmission setup…
Damn dude haha that’s crazy
Well after tons of hours, blood, sweat, tears, and a lot of cussing, I finally finished my Hyperflex kit with RTA’s to match. The only bushings I haven’t changed are the shock tower bushings and 4 of the power steering ones. The shock tower because it was late and couldn’t rent a spring compressor (yeah probably should have just waited, oh well) and the power steering ones because it would have required to disconnect all the lines and drop it completely (not happening). Tomorrow I’m heading straight to the alignment shop to get her straightened out. Also ordered and installed some eBay adjustable uca’s. Bought new bolts and washers to hold the ball joint and also added some extra grease to it too. Yay for no more worn inner tires! Also found out I need new brake pads all around and I should probably get all of my rotors turned. And another thing is I believe my front passenger side wheel bearing is shot. When I had the whole hub off I could grab where the brake disk sits against and feel it wiggle a little while the other did not. I swear one day this restoration will finally be over haha. I’m getting pretty close, just got to work out the last couple kinks. So that’s it for now. Next up: Raxles, brake pads/turned rotors, wheel bearing, and then maybe start looking at doing my OBD1 conversion or lowering some more. Not really sure yet.
(They are actually red not orange haha)
Well after putting it off for a while, the shaking got to where it was too much to handle so i went out and got some new Bosch rotors for the front, lifetime warranty $100 well spent. Car feels tons better stopping now, though I’ve still got my shake when accelerating
Wiggled the wheels around when I had the car up and I didn’t feel any play so I’m not sure now if it’s a wheel bearing. Next up are some raxles though
shitty axles will cause a vibration in the steering and car ingeneral. some raxels should hopefully clear that up. if not, only leaves you one option really
Holy hell they are $150 a side. I thought they were $150 a set. Well I’m probably going to get one now, then get another one later. My remans are lifetime warranty so I’ll just trade them in for some new ones and sell them to recoup my losses
Alright well little update. Finally got my amps and stuff wired up so I have music again I actually built the little piece they sit on myself, so I’m a little proud of that seeing as it was an odd shape haha. Nothing some cardboard and a sharpie couldn’t handle
Very nice system set-up, how much was all of that dyno mat you used ? Must of been hella expensive, & looks like you covered your entire trunk. That’s the way to do it.
the lip turned out really nice. not like those other home depot lips all big with metal screws in the front !!
Well my dad worked for a car stereo place for 17 ish years so If I remember correctly we still had like half a box laying around and we called over to CKR (his old job) and got another for like $100. And yeah the whole floor to where the back seats start in covered, there are pieces on the quarter panels, and the whole back “wall” that the tails and filler panel mount to is covered as well. Took me about 4 hours to do if I remember that correctly as well haha. It’s been a while since I did it.
Oh yeah and the HD lip is gone now haha. I actually now work at home depot and when I pulled into work one day I pulled up on the curb and it ripped it off haha

Re:
was it expensive to dynomat ? cause I’d like to do it to my car also, if it’s within my price range.
Uh try eBay or your local car stereo place. You’ll need a small rubber roller to lay it down. Some gloves too so you don’t cut yourself
$150 is not that bad at all, I would have thought much more. Now I’m pretty sure that’s what I’m gonna do too.
Let us know how you like those ebay UCA’s .
Holding up good so far. And I only work a part time job and my hours have been kinda shitty so I’m not making much, that’s why they are too expensive haha. And I just got back from a cruise so I lost a lot. Just made $200 cash lowering a civic today though!
Oh, ok then I’’ try that then thanks. Hows the teg running by the way ?
Doing alright. Adjusted my idle, so that feels a lot better now. Got to change out my axles again and replace my AC belt. I’ll be doing all that today. Probably cleaning her too. She’s all dirty
Cleaned my baby today. Cleaned the bay, Armor All’d the interior with wipes, vacuumed, and washed the paint. Never knew tire shine worked so well on an engine bay. Just have to lightly rinse off the excess. Here’s a couple pics of the outside. Not quite done rinsing the bay yet
Another pic i never posted. Also, just ordered my Megan Racing sleeve coilovers last night! If they don’t ride too well I’ll be ordering some Tokico Illuminas for the adjustability. I’ll also be adding some top hats as well some time down the road.
It probably won’t ride to well as sleve-overs are known for ridding shity and they bounce like a mofo, the other alternative you have is to buy regular lowering springs and just using the adjustable part of the sleve-overs but that’s more money into something that i’ll be ok for a while not long term. Or better yet sell those sleve-overs and go buy some full coilovers like function and formz. Look’em up on ebay I’ believe they are going for 550.00 or so and you won’t have to worry about a bouncy ride or the (sleve-over perch coming off it’s place cause when you hit a bump you will feel them lift of their perch with those sleve-overs coilovers wannabe. Now those that I mentioned they are full coilovers and you can raise or lower them as much as you want (No 5 inch drops) and you’ll still retain full suspension travel meaning it i’ll ride the same no matter how low or high you go plus they are threaded shocks meaning you don’t have to worry about a perch having to sit correctly or the fitment. Trust me bro you’ll be so glad you went that route cause sleve-overs IMO are a waste of money cause they screw up your ride instead of bettering it. Just thought I give you a little info before you regret going through all of that work and say man this car rides like hell now I should just have left it alone.
