Teggykid Running Log *New Wheels*

GREAT JOB on ride.
Keep on the GOOD work!!
make sure U hook up ur car the way U WANT. & dont fall for all that oem jdm :bs: Do you, Fix it, Drive it & have fun. With time U will learn what u like & what dont U like.

thanks man, as far in the oem as i go is just body stuff i guess, the seats were only gotten because they cam all together, i wish i could have gotten bucket seats but it was too much money, but i plan on doing everything how i want. i have so far and i don’t regret a single decision yet!

well guys today i turned 16! pretty excited even though i don’t have my car, and h\we dont have any extra cars so im stuck for a while. car might be done by middle of next month, just ready to have it home. getting my license next week cause my dad used his off day this week to go to the doctor to get the little bag removed from his side from his surgery. updates maybe this weekend!

sounds great, man. keep it up.

while i was going through your thread, i saw some old replies, not saying that everyone is hater, but sometimes just do whatever you want, let them hate hard, this is you car

thanks coke

so no work this past weekend, i was way to busy with a party i had and some other crap. but i’ll be working on her this weekend. just got to finish some last sanding towards the underside of the car and she’ll be ready for primer then paint. another bit a great news, i went to Montgomery today to take my driver’s license test and passed it w/ a 97. forgot to look over my shoulder when reversing and forgot to check rear view mirror when making a sudden stop. not to bad seeing as i haven’t looked at the book since i turned 15 last year  . anyways i also turned in an application for Food Outlet today and i have a friend that works there and he has too many hours a week so i will probably get hired, but before i buy parts for the car i have to buy ANOTHER retainer if i can’t find mine, $225 down but i have $70 now. anyways just stick around and ill have some updates later, thanks everyone!

happy belated birthday, youngster:)

wow your build is a lot like mine, i started when i was 16 ( im 17 now ) i also started with paint and it took me almost 6 months and im just now putting a motor in it, lol it looks like you are on the right path! good luck with your build! i have always kind of wanted a 4 door so make this one nice so i want one even more!

wow man we even have the same name, hahaha. thanks for the comments and the subscription means a lot. yeah i’ve been driving my moms TDI Beetle around for right now, lol. not to school or nothing, we dont have an extra car so im stuck on the bus still :werd:

well. some more work done. sanding is completely done. trunk lid was fixed and ready for paint. the damage to the rear driver side inside the door but not the door… part (lol) has to be fixed and possibly shaving antenna then he will start painting. this is killing me guys, lol. haven’t talked to steve in a while though so more might actually be done. its in his main shop now, not storage, so it must be getting some attention

I was just wondering, when you got your tires from Discount Tire Direct, did you have to pay them extra to mount the tires on the wheels?

I can’t seem to find the option to.

lets see if i can remember correctly. i think the option is when you have it all in your cart and one of the things on the list says “mount and balance”. i think. this was a while back so i dont really remember. but why would you not want them? plus i think that’s free. idk, ill have to check

Well I remember a while back it used to say something like that, but I’m not seeing it now.

Also, I’m looking at these rims and these tires. Will there be any rubbing issues? What other stuff will I have to get?

Thanks.

Man when I was 15 I spent all my cash on clothes girls and weed. I think you are doing a great job especially considering your age. Also if you like your wheels then great. They roll forward and backwards, bolt to the car, hold air and you like them. But other people would rather have oem or mugen wheels. Good for them. Shit I remember having my first set of outdated wheels with new tires polished up ready to go and how proud I was. Guess everyone forgot that feeling or just fall in to some money.

Dont get me wrong I dislike and like certain things of your “build”, but can appreciate being young and dumb (yet to learn) and would rather be positive. I mean cmon its really not that bad.

Whats the offset on those drags? If you are not lowered it will fit, though a low offset without superslammage would look silly.

Otherwise +45 offset should fit any DA with that tire size.

um… thanks? haha. i know what your saying and i realized that people aren’t going to like certain aspects of what i am doing. but some things i can’t do anything about. i would get the real Work (i believe) wheels but i can’t afford those, that’s why i opted for the drags. and I’d would look at the wheels but it says their website is under construction or getting fixed or something, but anything with a 45 offset should fit, unless you run spacers or something. and as far as getting what you need, they give you everything from lugs to the ring things. it should all be there if you order them mounted and all. and when you get them they will be set to 45psi. make sure you get em down to ~32 i guess. that’s if your running a 205/45/16. not sure about 15’s or 17’s. and what wheels are they? since i can’t go on the site I’ll just look them up

lol sorry about my mood you are doing great you cant do anything without someone hating. The sickest DA on here is ricer trash to others etc.

oh i wasnt offended in any way man  i knew what you meant, and a lot of nice tegs i’ve seen do get bashed sometimes. but thats what happems when you stick out and don’t conform

ok well the spot i was talking about is worse than we thought. all the bondo was taken off to reveal some crumpled metal. so the new panel has to be ordered and the old one cut and and replaced. about $250 for the panel and Steve can do the welding, ect. what else could possibly go wrong? :frowning:

man its been a while. well pretty much the only thing we are waiting on is the panel. dad talked to a guy who had a DB1 he could cut one out of, but he wanted $350. so if you know anyone who might have a donor car and could get the panel i would be SO grateful. the guy we talked to said the panel was called a “dog leg”. not sure if that’s correct but whatever. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Hit up member Spoon on here I know he has a shell that will be going to the wrecking yard soon. Don’t know which side you need though, I know his car has damage on one side but the other is mint. You can buy a DA shell here for 350 lol.

Otherwise Merry Christmas if you celebrate.
