Teggykid Running Log *New Wheels*

Wait what?

Whole car is primed. A little more hail damage on roof found, but fixed. Only thing is wetsanding now then it’s good for paint! But dad’s heading out of town next week so he may not have time to work on it. Maybe looking at one week later.

Some new pics. You can see some of the wetsanding taking place.

hey nice too see another 4door teggy…

nice build you got there… you ready to paint her yet?

Still inching closer. Don’t get a lot of time to work on it so the tinny little sanding that needs to be done takes a while because of that.

Got my headlights in today! Next will be carpet and headliner, but that’ll be after paint.

wow… how much money you put into the car… parts only…

Um, I’m not 100% sure.

Parts list
-seats and steering wheel ~$320
-headlights $100
-tails $45 (I think)
-wheels and tires $700
-spark plugs and wires $80
-battery $80
-hood, front and rear bumper ~$350
I think that’s it, but I’m not sure.

what kind of shift knob is that? I’d be so down for an auto trans with a sweet shift knob. did you retrofit that or did it just come on?

one of friend use to have that…

theres a button you press on top to acutally move the lever down…

Yeah I’m not sure what kind it is, but someone identified it once to me. Said it cost a pretty penny, but I’m not sure. Could be an ebay knock-off for all I know. It could use a better “boot” I guess you would call it. It’s not quite long enough and leaves the metal exposed.

What’s your plans on carpet? I’m looking for getting a new one myself. I had an idea that seemed pretty wild. To get Rhino lining or sometype of truckbed lining sprayed on the inside of the floorboard and get rid of carpet altogether.

Yeah i have a friend with an '89 Wrangler that has that done. I like carpet though so that isn’t for me, but it would be an easy solution if you used it as a track car or if you lived in the country where there would be a lot of dirt. Besides that it seems kinda strange to me. He said it’s nice after you go mudding. Just put the water hose in there and make a drain hole, but I don’t think your going to do much mudding in an Integra, haha. I guess I’m going to get iether a carpet kit or just one of the premolded ones. Depends how much I fell like spending I guess. Don’t throw out your old carpet though. You will need it as a layout to cut hole where they need to be cut in the new one.

damm u paid to much for headlights if u lived around here would gave u mines for like 50

Oh well I guess. They were about the best price for the condition that I found.

What the…

You’d give up shifting for a pretty knob?

:bs:

I think he just meant he would like a shift knob that looked good for an auto trans. At least I hope so, I hate autos. I plan on switching this one as long as my motor holds up for a while.

Some more work done! Dad went on over to Steve’s today and they started on the doors. Well, Steve did. Fenders are on! Now it looks like it’s starting to take shape! Ready for this to be done! More updates probably this weekend!

Alright, well they finished the outer sides of the doors (wetsanding) so they are good to go. The plan is to have the car completely painted by next Thursday (or on next Thursday, I don’t remember) because Steve is going to be going out of town for a while. I’m really looking forward to the car being done! The paint is just going to be Milano Red with black moldings (the door things, is that what they are called? I forget). Anyway so just mark your calendar for 5/20/10 and come on over and check the site and see if it actually got finished, haha.

Also, when I’m done painting I have to put it all back together. It’s probably goig to take a couple days so I’m probably going to be on here asking where stuff goes in case we have forgotten.

I already appreciate it a whole lot more, haha. It took a lot of work, but I’m glad we’ve almost reached the end. Well, at least body wise. I wish I could have helped more but I can’t really afford to miss school. But now I have the whole summer to work and buy parts so I’m probably going to get all the little things left and then start on my 5 speed swap.
