The Devondangers Build Thread!

For sure. Pics tomorrow (if I remember) of the spiffy new Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position tires. Size 195/60R14. Price:370 or so.

Front end grip isn’t as good so far, but then again, the tires are brand new.

Ok, well pics aren’t working. I’ve tried all sorts of light and got nothing usable.

Still, gonna go to Cheyenne Sat, gonna go visit someone. It’ll be fun, my first road trip across the border with Suki.

Wooo, what gauge cluster is that?

That’s a Prelude cluster from 1997-2001 (gen 5). And no, I don’t have one, I want one. :stuck_out_tongue:

That cluster looks good for the 2nd gen Teg. Will that work, plug and play or some minor wiring to make that work for the DA/DB?

Hell if I know, I’ve never seen anyone do it. It’s not plug and play, I know that. The cluster comes out of an OBD II Prelude with an H22 motor in it, so all the connectors and shit would be different, but if someone managed to put an S2K cluster in, I think this is possible. I don’t have any diagrams of pin out, etc. to go off, so I’d have to get all that figured out if I ever did the swap.

IMO, it looks good, but it might be more trouble than it’s worth.

Do it

You got a spare cluster laying around to volunteer? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m sure if I had the time and budget I would jump at the chance to be the only one I know of who’s done it. However, I have no money.

Maybe I will by the time I get to replacing my noisy speed cable/motor. See also: climate control lights.

Glynn, you and I need to rip my doors apart this summer sometime and fix my damn windows.

Well, I need a new brake system. Saving up for it. Anyone know if Legend calipers fit under OEM 15" Honda Fit wheels? Not sure about that one…

let me know when :wink:

Oh, you know it.

Im pretty sure they will.

If you have tape weights its definitely close, but you’ll be fine. 11" Lude VTEC rotors, Legend/Accord/ITR calipers, fat fives:

Nice.

Ok, so as Glynn stated on his thread, I’m booked solid right now. ><

I have 2 jobs, and work is close to 50-55 or sometimes 60 hours a week. So I don’t have a lot of free time, for sure. But I may have enough to start hoarding away money for a build. Or more responsible things, like an apartment. We shall see what time does to my budget.

An update: Changed oil, transmission fluid, battery terminal, and I’m looking for interior parts in mint condition. Maybe I’ll try to find a 94+ GSR interior. Also, saving for OEM fat 5’s, Fit, or Blades and 11" rotors w/legend calipers. Not entirely sure what I’ll do or when, so time will tell.

What I’ve been up to:

New Tires:

New Oil/Penzoil Synchromesh MTF:

New Battery Terminals:

Negative:

Positive: (the really bad one)

Another Seafoam treatment, smoked up the whole freaking neighborhood.
Injector cleaner.
…And looking at another Honda, from 1982:

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

Ok… So this dead thread needs a revival!

Next on the list for me is OEM valve cover gaskets, spark plus seals, spark plugs, wires, and another Seafoam treatment. Been spitting recently, and when I pulled the plugs, they was full of oil. ><

I’m considering Koni Yellows/GC if I get enough dough together, but I’m trying to transition jobs at the moment, so we’ll see about my finances.

After that, it might be a b20, or raxles, but I think I might have a pinhole leak in the radiator, so a replacement radiator is up in the air (any aftermarket upgrade suggestions are acceptable).

Not that anyone actually reads these, but I’ve been a busy boy indeed.

So… Installed OEM valve cover gaskets, spark plug tube seals, Bosch Platinum spark plugs, new wires, filled the radiator, Seafoamed, vacuumed, washed, and drove her.

All in 2 hours. I love this life sometimes, but business does not leave much time for my girl and my fiance. I spent a good chunk on one of the ladies in my life (as I say to my fiance, LOL) and she purrs like a kitten.
