The ever elusive Hybrid DA suspension Article

does anyone have any experience with skunk2 proS coilovers for the EF?
im planning on running them this summer. i hope its not bouncy

i believe i read that the EF and DA share the same suspension components just boxed with diff part numbers.

[QUOTE=Drtacura;1266421]i’m posting this artical on honda tech to see what people think
http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1394518

What I’m thinking is that a may want to machine the DA fork to fit the DC shock
A little shaving of the opening and a little heating and stretching.

The reason I’m thinking of other options is I don’t like the idea that the CV shafts will rub.

let me know what you think?

The EF/DA forks have an ID of 1.502" and the EG ones were 1.650".

this is the route i want to take. i hope the opening in the da fork can stretch to fit the dc strut

So most of the peeps that did the front DC/EG fork conversion on their DA had their DC/EG fork ends rubbing on the axles? So I take it the front hybrid conversion is a hit or miss?

For those thathad the rubbing… you guys went with DA fronts and DC/EG rears? If so, how does it ride?

I need to know before I go out and buy ALL DC/EG shocks and forks…

i used to have a complete DC suspension in my DA, and did not rub at all, right now its sitting on Front DC Forks with KYB GR2 shocks and Omnipower Coilovers, and in the rear Ohlins 32 way adjustable shocks with EG LCA and Omni Coilovers, no problem at all, very comfy!, oh yeah mine’s a 1993 integra LS

Hey thanks for the input but why did you use the EG LCA’s for the rear? I thought the EG shocks for the rears bolt up to the DA LCA’s… does it not?

yes they do im sorry i didnt express myself right, thought of one thing and wrote another, i have the EG Shocks (The Ohlins) on my DA’s LCA, they fit right in, no problem whatsoever, but speakin of LCA’s i heard, don’t know if its true plus i haven’t searched about it, i’ve heard that the EG LCA’s and the Type R LCA’s are the same, is this true? i think not but then again i have not searched jeje

Tasty - how low are you and how smooth is your setup? Does it bounce a lot or it’s just right for daily driving? Thanks for confirming that you don’t rub. I’ve read numeruos posts on here and HT about the DC/EG front forks rubbing and it kinda discourages me from going that route… now I feel a lil better :)

well my setup is mostly drag, but i use it as a daily driver, on the rear its completely stiff but im using 446 pounds omni coilovers and in front its 336, it rides great for a drag setup i actually thought it would be bumpier as hell but it is not, i also have energy suspensions complete bushing set including the trailing arms so i guess that helps too, the front height its 24" and the back is 28", i have it that high because of the road bumps that i have to face here in my country and i want to mantain my traction bar and my header as mint as possible jejeje

I pulled some coilovers off a 94 EJ… They were tightened down with allen screws onto the shock, and I think they are ground controls. Will these sleeves and springs fit on the Tokico Illuminas I already have on my DA, specifically the front?

Any ideas? Will the sleeves and springs slide onto my illuminas?

Maybe. The DA struts may be a little smaller in diameter. Also, you may end up with them raised up most of the way in the rear and lowered most of the way in the front in order for it to sit right. There are variations between manufactures, so unless someone has the exact same coilovers and struts, the only way to really know for sure is to try it.

Could I used an EK(96-2000) setup for my DA?
H&R springs on koni red struts.
What parts would I need to make this work?
ie:
Front Forks,LCA’s,etc?
Would I run into any problem if I used my stocks on opposed to the EK’s?

I’ve seen this questioned asked in this thread but I couldn’t find an answers.

Thanks for the great info.

It wont stretch to fit the DA strut. Don’t even waste you time trying, even if you do get it in there you wont be able to screw in the bolt that tightens the bottom of the strut.

^^ OR you can always dremel the fuck out of the inner circumference of the DA fork to make it fit the DC shocks shrug

Anyone have any input here regarding this situation?
I’m getting some EG LCA’s would thiis make this setup work?

^ I would assume you would just need some EG/DC/EK front forks and possibly some washers/longer bolts on the rear. The front strut is going to be about the same as a EG/DC (same diameter anyway, don’t know about the length). The rear strut has a wider fork, so you may have to use washers and/or longer bolts to make it fit correctly. EG/DC rear control arms would probably not make any difference and EK rear control arms are too long.

That was my assumption as well.

Thanks for the input “phatcardesignz”.

DC front shocks are way too long if im not mistaken.

they are the same height just fatter its DA rears that are tall the tallest of all the bunch
