the party system on ps3 is crap :down:
my friend and I sent millions of invites back and forth with each other, and never ONCE ended up on the same team. let alone, the same squad.
mic communication is terrible. it all sounds like someone is on a cheap phone, driving through a mountain tunnel with no signal. communication is almost impossible. and squadding up with your friends, at this point, IS impossible.
this is a big let down for me, thus far. considering the 95% emphasis on teamwork to complete objectives, it makes it hard when you have to team up with people you don’t know, and unsure skill levels, and with mics that more or less, DON’T WORK. how the hell are you supposed to work as a team if you can’t work as a team…
shitty… i’ll be setting up a teamspeak server and i’m gonna get my buddies to register their bt headsets to their computers n’ connect to teamspeak. That’ll fix the communication problems… as for the teaming up issue, that sucks… hope it gets fixed soon.
I still can’t wait to play it though.
i have to say despite working through a browser, and its small quirks the PC match making isnt bad. I joined VSR’s game quite easily. Party and squad creation are fairly straight forward. I’ve never tried the PS3 version. Technically Origin is still “beta” so not everything works right…enabling cloud sync broke the game until i disabled it.
My friend got it a few hours ago for PC. making squads was easier for him. he had about a 8 out of 10 success rate when pairing up with his friends.
i on the other hand, have a 0 out of 1,000,000,000,000,000 success rate on the PS3.
Apparently, the issue isn’t PS3 exclusive. I don’t know from experience, as I don’t own one, but I’ve heard the 360 is just as bad.
Hoping that Dice makes an announcement about the issue soon, and gets it under control.

Also - teamspeak has an android (and maybe iphone?) app - so if people dont want to deal w/ having it setup on PC, you can just connect your smartphone to 4G / wifi and connect to team speak that way. Works great.
i stand corrected somewhat, party system in the Battle log is so broken it’s not funny. Now we just wait for one of us to join a server then we just join on him. The party join doesnt even work. But we can usually all get into a server no problem. To have such a glaring issue with one of the key features of Battlelog and release the game is a pretty poor decision especially when battlelog is integral to the game.
also issues with servers crashing. Lag gradually increases until the server simply crashes and i get disconnected. I turned off some programs and that seems to have solved my single CTD. My friend however is having problems with multiple CTDs. Seems hit and miss.
Dont get me wrong, I still had a blast playing. Finally mastering flying the jet and unlocked heat seeking missiles.
edit: actually i forgot, the reason why he was having CTD was possibly because he was running a Phenom II X6 and a GTX 560ti on a 430w PSU.
K i played for about 3-4 hours last night…
Party system worked for me 80% of the time… the other 20% the friend got kicked, joined the match and then switched teams if necessary (if there was room)
the audio IS definitely pretty broken… I’ve set up a teamspeak server and i’ll be using that till they fix it…
I had SOME instances of lag but it wasn’t too bad overall… I’m sure EA will fix this shit soon… unlike homefront…
Also… don’t forget how broken games like black ops were for the first few weeks… we always seem to forget that once the patches are out and working.
Only shitty thing i have to say is… 4 people to a party max? C’mon… thats fucking garbage… at least let us party up 8 people and toss us into the match as 2 separate squads…
Watching all these complaints flow in just show how unfamiliar people are with how ‘Battlefield’ games start. IIRC, BF2 was even worse than this on it’s launch and it’s the most epic FPS in history.
BF games are so ridiculously complex it’s to be expected, at least by me…take it in stride.

yeah well remember a lot of people are still caught up in the simplicity of COD and just moving over to BF. The biggest complaint I hear is about constantly getting killed and not killing anyone. 99% of the time it’s because they’re playing it like COD and sprinting in the open like a retard and trying to “spray and pray”. The first thing I tell people is to SLOW DOWN.
You can always spot someone playing a Battlefield game for the first time. Always sprinting in the open and unloading an entire mag at a time while still moving then wondering why 1) they didn’t kill their target and 2) how they got shot from 17 different directions. LOL. SLOW DOWN, plan your route and advance 1 cover at a time or you WILL be lit up like a Christmas tree.

played a solid 4-5 rounds of conquest with XtReMe98 today. we had a great squad going on. all of us were almost always in the top 4 positions. great games 
shit yeah… I was on a hot streak.
didn’t have my mic on cause a) it still doesn’t work 100% and b) the wife was sleeping in today so I was using headphones.
They’re rebuilding the inside of our post office so they closed it all weekend. :mad: I’m sure it’s sitting in my PO Box right now.

had some more good rounds, not with Xtreme, though.
They are working out the kinks with the party/mic system, and I am definitely seeing signs of improvement. I’m having about an 80-90% success rate with getting the squads to stay together after setting up the invite in the menus. The only thing I’m really still disgruntled about is the mic system. It is still a real hit or miss. You either have great communication, or it’s virtually non existent.
I’ll be back on in about 30-45 min. had to put the girls to bed, and had to do some straightening up around the house.
