OMG. Please do not spread around miss information.
THIS IS WRONG. It’s basic areodynamics,
Lifting the hood does not let hot air out.
It lets air into the engine bay and leaves thru the bottom of the bay.
High pressue areas always want to go to low areas.
Tape strings to your hood and see what I mean.
Damn I’m 17 and know these basic concepts…
“Lifting the hood does not let hot air out”
-#1 have you urself ever owned a turbocharged da9?
-#2 hot air balloons works off of hot air rising correct?
-#3 now pretend that hot air balloon is ur engine bay and cutting a hole in the top of the balloon is the same concept as opening a gap in ur engine bay by raising the hood with washers
#4 now some of the hot air in the balloon is going to escape out of the hole correct?
#5 soo…hot air rising in the engine bay will eventually find its escape route through the gap created between the engine bay and the hood by raising it with washers (diffusion, high concentration to low concentration); Thus, letting some of the hot air escape; Thus, helping lower overall engine bay temperatures
#6 come put ur hand at the bottom of my windshield and tell me honestly u do not feel hot air being released via the gap created by the washers.
#7 when the car is moving then it may create a vacum pressure system
and suck in cold air? but again how is that a bad thing for cooling if it is sucking in cold air while moving and releasing hot air when stopped at a light or where ever so overall it is helping reduce engine bay temps correct?
#8 “THIS IS WRONG” im am currently studying human relations right now and when dealing with people you do not want to put them on defence as u did right now to me. Your reputation take years to build and seconds to loose so i hope you understand that and consider apologizeing for your previous statement. If not then i want you to fully understand why people call you a 17 year old boy and not a 17 year old respected man.
