I am starting a thred that will hopefully become stickyed because as a turbo da9’er the biggest issue for me is getting air to and threw that damn radiator
I want this thred to cover things that have worked and what has not work. There is a lot of information on this forum but its nice to have it all together
please post pictures and talk about the pros, cons, how, and why you think what you have done is effective.
few things people can cover are
rad size and type?
rad fan size and type?
push and pull set up
ducting air to the rad
rad placement (assuming its a half rad) eg angleing it or having it flush with the rad support
what most people do is to let the hot air escape out of the engine bay is to put washers under the 4 - 10mm bolts that attatch the hood to the hinge depending on hieght u may need longer bolts
Pros
-lets hot air out
-looks hardcore
-under $5
Cons
-if u goto high water may get in
as seen in the picture above the hood raises by the windsheild
1-12" push/pull, using as pusher
1-10" push/pull, using as pusher
both connected to accessory, so when the key is on, there on. it works really well.
also thermo coating parts that attract alot of heat i.e.: turbo manifold, exhaust housing of turbo, wastegate, dumptube and downpipe.
The thermo-coating alone helped a ton in overall heat in the engine bay. no more glowing turbo or manifold, and it doesnt burn your face when I pop my hood!!
showing the 2 10" perma-cool fans, I could have kept them both but I got rid of 1 for the 12" and my front bumper has a vent already in the front. it helps a little. I guess every little bit counts.

OMG. Please do not spread around miss information.
THIS IS WRONG. It’s basic areodynamics,
Lifting the hood does not let hot air out.
It lets air into the engine bay and leaves thru the bottom of the bay.
High pressue areas always want to go to low areas.
Tape strings to your hood and see what I mean.
