well since spikeymike deleted my other thread i have to start a new one… well i have a B16 with a drag turbo kit… i bought my teg back with the check engine light on… so my question is the valve cover hose that goes to an intake is leaking air out alot… umm its never done this before i have had this turbo kit for about 5months… well what i dont understand is why its throwing air out of there… anyone know why ??
maybe a cheap hose and its cracked
is the hose popping off or is it just leaking air out by other means (cracks etc.)
if its popping off, maybe get those little hose clamps and clamp that bitch on to hold it in place  do you have pics of the hose you speak of, could help a bit.
if its cracked up or something, just get a new one. prolly get one at autozone or something.
edit
i just saw the other thread, might just wanna replace it. just get a silicone hose or something from autozone, shouldn’t be more than $5. you can probably get em in all kinds of pretty colors. advance auto and pep boys also have em.
as far as what could cause it, most likely just old age, looks like the original hose that went the stock intake tube. just ditch it for a new one, like one that comes with any aftermarket intake or a silicone hose. hope that helps my good man. love your car and hate to see it with problems.
edit2
my engine also revs up just a touch when i push on the brakes while sitting still. also does it when i turn my wheel for some reason. i have NO IDEA what makes it do that.
Like I aready said in another thread, If it’s smokngi visibile blue/white smoke out of the breather hose. It is a sure sign of ringland failure. Also, you do not want to connect that onto your charge pipe. Ever. Unless Pre-Turbo
You are forcing air into your valve cover under boost, its suppose to do exactly opposite, air is suppose to be sucked out of there to prevent blow by and eventual ring failure, hopefully what you have been expieriencing is oil being pushed past your valves, before you mess anything up completely, please take off that hose and plug the hole on the charge pipe, and at least for now let your valve cover vent into the atomosphere, if nothing is already messed up this should solve your problem
Hello…This is my Teg with a similar DRAG Turbo Kit…If you see on the Engine Bay pic, you can see what I had done to that hose section…I just bought a lil Air Filter at the auto parts store and had it put on…That is the way that it should be. My Teg, after tunning is running great. Be safe and good luck.
Although that little filter may work, that is also not the correct way to do it. You should be using a catch can. Search around here and Honda-Tech. There are a bunch of really good writeups on how to do it properly. A good catch can will actually create suction to pull gases out through the valve cover. All that little filter does is catch some of what may come out on their own.
Ditto. A catchcan is extremely recommended.
Your valve cover should be venting spent fumes out from it back into your intake track. Do you really want all that sludge and spent air returning into your motor for a second pass?
Get a catchcan. One hose will attach to your crankcase vent and the other to your intake track. When you step on the gas it creates vacuum which is used to pull the air out of your valve cover instead of relying on a little breather valve.
the best way to vent the crankcase is to get or mimic the endyn setup. there are 2 plugs on the back of the block on each side of the oil filter that can be removed and tapped to fit nipples. those 2 holes should be run to the catchcan. from the catchcan you need a vacuum source. remember that while boosting, the only vacuum that can be found in your motor is pre-turbo piping. there are also people who run it to the exhaust, somewhere in the downpipe or farther back. supposedly it pulls very good vacuum. i dunno for sure but it makes sense.
2nd best option imo- run the valvecover breather to a pcv valve, then into the catchcan, then into a vacuum source.
mine is set up as follows: i have the black box on the back of the motor run directly to my catchcan(i do not have a pcv valve). from the catchcan i run it to my intake pipe between the air filter and the turbo.
DO NOT: run stock pcv system and PLUG the breather on the valvecover. the pcv valve does not open during boost in a normal setup, and if you block the valve cover breather there is no place for the air to go and it will create serious crankcase pressure…not good…
