The amp loses control of the subs and kills them huh? Please explain how this particular amp does this and how others don’t.
Originally posted by NC-B17A I have 1 customer that had to have these JBL amps because they were so good. He brought me a BP1200.1 to play his 3 MTX Thunder 6000 12s he blew all 3 subs the 1st day. I pulled his subs out he went to CC & swaped them out. I put 3 new subs in he killed 2 of them in 3 days. So he decided to buy subs from me 3 JL 12w3v2. It took him 3 weeks to kill them & I have swaped out 1 here & 1 there. .
So you’re saying that the amp is causing these subs to blow? Mmmmhhh. Please explain to me how this particular amp repeatedlly blows subs and how other better amps don’t.

However, lanzar’s opti series are VERY very nice and are of much higher quality then anything else listed on the “bad amp” list. [/B]
ya at one time i wanted a class d from the optidrive line but couldnt afford it.
bazooka is just well… money better spent elsewhere.
coustic and crunch, although laughable, ive actually heard some and they arent horrible. they can put out some decent power. not hard to find either, im sure every shop has one in a pile somewhere.
so again, money better spent. honestly if i found one of their upper models for 30-40bucks working properly id go for it. any more and id look for a name brand of course. recently updated my bp600.1 with a power500a2 for 70bucks. that baby has been known to put out 720-750rms
I only somewhat agree with Lightning Audio being on the list. Their Bolt series stuff (the yellow ones) totally suck, but the strike and storm series aren’t bad, and are comparable with other stuff made by Rockford Fosgate. Also, I didn’t see Memphis anywhere on the list of decent to good amps.
dudes I am looking now for an amp to power two 8 inch subs in my rear. I didnt wnat anything to big when it camp to subs cause they are in a flase floor setup and I need a amp to power them. I am looking for something with 600W 2 channel. Also looking for 400 W 4 ch to power 4 poineer 6 1/2. Please recommend me some amps. I am reading your list and it just cancels out all the amps I had in mind to buy. Need advice.

haha sorry but its the truth. for not wanting big your power requirements are pretty high, unless youre talking peak output heh. 200rms for typical 8s and 40rms x 4 for a mild setup would be plenty imo. as far as choices, its always best to listen for yourself. who knows, you might enjoy the output of one of the above compared to a more expensive one, which is perfectly normal.
I agree with you on the rest of the list but I have a Lanzar Amplifer Vibe-268 and it is rated 800 Watts RMS x 2 at 2 Ohms. I am putting out 3200 watts max on a 2000 watt amp. Sounds good to me.
This is the only amplifer that should be OMITTED on the list.
I guess your ripping on Fosgate? I agree that the newer amps kinda suck, but I love my oldschool RF amps Punch 40, 60, 100, 200. I bought a new punch 100 DSM (trans-ana) in 97 and still play it today. I have pushed 2 JL12W0’s to 142db in competition and won. I use the 40 on highs/mids (which I got in 94).
