there's hope! retaining A/C w/ turbo

i have started my journey to the darkside. i am bound and determined to keep my A/C. basiclly so my wife will ride in the car  . i have been working on moving/bending the lines for about 2 hrs now. i’m trying to have it look pretty much stock. will wrapping the lines help them from getting heat soaked? they’re gonna be pretty close to my wastegate. i hope none of the lines broke, or leaked. i haven’t heard any hissing yet:P . i’ll try to get pics up tonight. this is on my 91 , with spoolin manifold and tial 35mm btw.

back to work…

Why don’t you just use something like this so you can run them where ever you want?

i was hoping to keep the system sealed. if i drain it, then i’ll have to convert to the new refrigerant. my a/c is still pretty cold, so i can’t see spending $ on that.
everything was going good till i got to behind the bumper. the stupid evaporator pipe is gonna kick the fmic out way to far…

it looks like all the time i spent being so careful, and bending so perfect might be for nothing. right now, i can’t see being able to keep it. serious clearance issues w/ the charge pipe hitting the dumptube and downpipe. hope is fading after all… :frowning:

A/C shops will still fill with R12 so you can still get it. Hell, you can get a $15 certification online so you can buy it online yourself.

hhmmmm… i didn’t know that. if thats the case, i could maybe move some of the lines. i’d have to buy the cert, the refrigerant, the kit to move the lines. just don’t know if i wanna spend that $ for this. i’d rather spend it on tuning.

thanx for the help.
