getting straight to the point., my teg is lacking.got all the bolt-on’s. I was thinking about putting a NOS system in. probably a dry shot, but anyways can anyone tell me what other parts i will need to support Nos… new intake manifold?, Fuel Rails?, fuel injectors???enlighten me. mind you i’m on a budget so i can’t go turbo. thanks.:shy:
go with an nx wet setup or nx direct port setup if you are looking for high horsepower. a good upgrade for cheap would be 94-01 ls intake manifold and throttle body, then if you have any spare cash you can send them to maxbore.com for tb bore and port match.
Anyways I wouldnt go with a dry system for any reason, especially if you are already planning on the expense involved with a new IM and fuel system upgrades…
Also look into what heat range spark plugs to run and what timing to use especially when using a higher power shot…
yup. direct bolt on. slightly shorter runners and 60mm tb instead of stock 58mm. i ran the 94 ls tb and im on one of my engines and a skunk 2 on the other.
I just got through ordering a wet kit from Cold Fusion nitrous. It was $399. The normal kit cost is $460’ish, and the sale ends I think either today or tomorrow, not sure. Damned good stuff from what I have heard.
My kit should be here this upcoming friday. I am not going to fog my motor until I get my 3000 rpm (while cruising) misfire straightened out. Not to mention my idle problem in which the motor wanders between 600 to 900 rpm.
Misfires and poor idle quality sucks! Then again, when I do get this problem fixed, I suppose that I shall give it a little spray for test purposes and see how my fuel system reacts to it.
fuel system shouldnt be a problem. you might want to have the car tuned before spraying. if its near stock it should take almost no time at all to tune and if the tuner is good they could put your timing controls for the nitrous in the chip. your idle problem sounds like a bad aicv, try unplugging (with the car off!) and if the bad idle goes away you can either buy a new aicv or i believe some programs allow you to disable it. the aicv is located on the backside of the intake manifold, right by the throttle body.
NOS is a term for power that the movies brought to life. It stands for Nitrous Oxide System which was bought out by Holley Performance a few years back. Try and use more of a basic title like Nitrous. Tons of performance companies have their own nitrous setups. Edelbrock, Zex, Venom, and also a lot of people go the DIY route.
Read up on it and learn where to begin. Consider being a little bit more conservative on questions in the future.
you forgot one of the only companies worth mentioning, nitrous express. another good company for parts and complete kits is harris speed works. when i redo my nitrous setup i will go with hsw dry nozzles and maybe distribution blocks, but i will keep my nx bottle, race solenoid, and accessories(purge, heater, etc).
