The owner is suppose to call me on tuesday when he gets back from vacation, if he bullshits me like his employees did i’m gonna take them to small claims court
That’s what everyone is telling me, i’m gonna bring that up to the owner when i talk to him. What pisses me off the most is the fact that they didn’t call me when they first started having problems before it got to the point of destroying it.
It depends on what they adjusted. If they where only doing a set the toe and let it go kinda thing then ya they shouldn’t have touched the wheels. If you had a camber kit and they had to adjust that some shops will take the wheels off for ease of adjustments. It very’s from shop to shop and how much experience the tech has. Also if they just did the basic toe adjustment and then went for a test drive and the car pulled one way or the other then they might have tried switching the wheels from side to side to eliminate it because sometimes inconsistencies in the tires can even keep the best alignment from going straight.
O and I’m not trying to justify the shop what they did is fucked up beyond all belief. Just thought if they weren’t giving you much of an explanation that might let ya know.
they shouldn’t have to remove the wheels unless they switched them sides like 1Slw4Dr mentioned. i do alignment’s myself but it’s very rare that i have to do that. i know it sucks and you shouldn’t have to but you should have been keeping an eye on the guy doing the work if you had nice wheels. 99% of mechanics are idiots and aren’t careful with nice things. i hope everything works out.
i do alignments on all kinds of cars and a LOT of dropped honda’s/ acura’s… whoever worked on your car was for sure stupid, they shouldn’t have had any reason to remove your wheels at all, even for camber/ caster adjustments if you have aftermarket kits… hopefully you get everything sorted out, if not i’d definitely take them to claims court

That’s good to know, i was just getting a basic alignment to fix the toe… no camber kit. I’m just pissed because he tried to pry the caps off instead of unthreading them. I just wished they would of stopped and call me if they couldn’t figure out how to take the wheels off.
The owner was suppose to call me today and didn’t so i guess i have to call them again to see what they are gonna do about this. Even though i was polite to them about the whole situation i guess it doesn’t matter if you are polite or an asshole to people who fuck up because they will try not to resolve anything. Hopefully i’ll have some good news tomorrow after a phone call.
fuck that hurts. first, knowing that they could have easily removed them if they’d used logic instead of gorilla-fisting that shit. second, that they didn’t even have to remove them in the first place. third, you just finished painting those beauties. and fourth, final and fatal, that you likely can’t find those parts alone to replace them. if you could, shit wouldn’t be so bad. they aint gonna cover the cost for a new set of wheels. and they basically fucked yours up.
shitty deal, dude. i feel for you for sure
wise words to live by, absolutely.
unfortunately though, not all flies are the same. some like shit. and sometimes, that’s what you need to give these flies

The person working on my car thought that the wheels were konig’s when he told me he would look for centercaps, and the part that really pisses me off is the fact that they lied to me and said that the collars were prone to break because they were old when they really tried to pry them off and broke them. So far i’ve had no luck finding replacement parts and might have to buy something and rig it to work or just sell the wheels and be done with them.
