To All The K-Series Nut Huggers...

Not worth it at all.

i’ll post more once people start hugging its nuts saying it’s a lot better and its the future blah blah blah bull$hit.

:corn:

All the people that race in nopi use k series. Like the saying goes, the is no replacement for displacement. Even applies to honda motors. If you want really good torque numbers you need more displacement. Alos the k series are better suited for all motor apps. Actually the are better suited all around. :whisper:

+1

b20vtec (built right) > k20

h22a > k20a2

d15 > all.

fuck all of you.

x2 on the :corn:

Does this thread have a purpose? I try not to shit on Honda motors, EXCEPT the B20A

Why is that?

ya, its to show your dislike to k-series.

k-series = over-rated

I’d stick my TSX’s stock K24 into my DB1 in a heartbeat.

^ ya, I can understand if you have one laying around or got it super cheap, but why go out and pay 6k for the whole swap? I would go h22 swap for 2k and still have lots of money to mod it.

integra gs, prepare to :flame:

dude… why are you trying to create chaos haha

k series is alot lighter weight wise, but having to funk with it and customizing the the mounts id stick to b series

B18c5 > k20

^that’s where I stand

Real life example:

Remember that RHD K20 DA?

With these mods:
-K20A2 Type S, 6spd tranny
-Matching valve cover to body as well as purple valve cover to match wheels
-RSX base axles
-Golden Eagle Mfg. fuel rail
-Sard Fuel Pressure Regulator
-DC 4-1 race header for K20 swap
-Custom K20 mounts, billet sections from HASport, steel brackets by Brian Cain
-great axle pinion angle, clears hood and ground plenty
-RBC intake manifold
-Karcepts throttle body adapter plate
-Custom fabricated “tucked” engine harness all finished in heat shrink
-Koyo EP3 radiator with slim pusher fan
-Short ram intake and stainless mesh filter
-Tanabe Super Hyper Medallion exhaust
-Earl’s black -6AN lines and fittings
-Earl’s fuel filter
-Walbarro 255lph fuel pump
-Hondata K-Pro ecu

Guess what it runs?

Give you a clue, not better than my time of:

RT: .832
60’ 2.581
330 6.580
1/8 9.765
MPH 77.65
1000 12.492
1/4 14.794
MPH 99.05

But he pulled a 2.3 60" “without launching”

Discuss.

Wait… so that is the whole point of this? I have heard people talking about that car, and it is a poor example for any argument on any side. Not only is it basically a stock K20 with I/H/E, but people that heard it when it was at Import Aliance last year said it sounded terrible and that it needed some serious tuning. Also, the only stuff about it on a track I’ve seen sounded like the guy didn’t know how to drive. I don’t know if the new owner has done anything with it or made it to the track, but anything coming from the previous owner’s experience is just about useless. I would still like to see what a properly tuned and driven K20 DA can do, but the K24 is where the real K-series dominance lies.

Not worth it meaning… ? If you’re building a race car, and you’re dumping $20,000 into a motor, you’re basically a damn fool for not going K, or you’re competing in some class that heavily handicaps K-series in order to keep things cheap. If you’re just building a street-legal car that will see occasional track time, then a G2 integra is one of the worst platforms to start with from an economics perspective, so quibbling about other engines being cheaper is like saying that hitting your nuts with a rubber mallet hurts less than hitting your nuts with a claw hammer. If you’re just building a street car that will never see a track, then who gives a shit what you spend your money on, because it’s all just to tickle your fancy.
