i spent about 9500 and im not done getting all my parts… another 4 grand and i’ll get a wavetrac lsd, brian crower stage 2 cams, valvesprings retainers and vavles and skunk2 PRO C coilovers and pro series camber kit…
and no, i havent put it in my da yet, i havent even seen any of my parts cuz im stationed over seas in italy, but this coming feb i’ll be stationed at home and i’ll update you fellas on it… hell i might even start a new thread step by step…
ok well put it this way a type r swap ad a k20 swap are getting pretty even price wise…say you put it in your gen2. would you rather run low 14s with the type r or would you rather run low 13s high 12s with the k20…i know for a fact if you drop a k20 into a hatch it will run mid 12s all day stock k20r ofcourse
say what you want about XS power, (I would never run any of there stuff) however it would take one hell of a k series all motor setup to compete with a properly tuned b18 “xs power” turbo setup on stock internals t3/t4 around 10psi-12 psi. Straight line racing anyways. Still rather have the K all motor though
I dont particularlly know much about the K series motor, but there is a pro about it, being that is new technology for Honda’s future. Being said the K series has an advantage over the B as far as miles per gallon. Can someone give a gas comparison between the two, if so, I think the K would win over the B in that department.
As far as displacement, someone mentioned it in this thread. The con would be price comparison. No one mentioned of the H series Prelude motor. H22/23VTEC Frankenstein over a K20, I think would win. The cost to build a “H-Franky Hybrid” would probably leave the wallet open left for a decent home made turbo set up! With it being well tuned by a professional tuner, I believe you should not break the bank past 6K and still tap that @$$ on a K-series
