I highly disagree with you on that. On the drag strip. there is no such thing as turbo lag, not even between shifts. I said 20+ because that’s in the efficiency range of the turbo. You can max out a 14B/T25 and still produce weak torque. Good mid range, but no top end, which is where you end up for the most part. The reason for my slow times vs trap is traction, not the turbo being too big and laggy. It’s ALOT easier to have decent traction and have a good run with less power obviously. Put your time slip beside mines and this will be apparent. With slicks, the car is capable of mid 10’s if not better. What tires are your mid 12’s pass on and what mph?
bringsallyup:
thats a solid mid 14 sec. run if you got that 2.8 60ft time down to even a measly 2.4
what do you mean thats a solid mid 14 second run? that was the fasted i ran all day long. i ran about 13 times and the next fastest run i had was like a 15.5 i wasnt even gettin close to 15.2.
i just remember seeing your time slip and you had a 2.8 60ft time…
usually you count .2 off your time for every .1 off your 60ft… so if you take 5 tenths in the 60ft is 1 second off your 1/4 mile… in theory of course
i was saying, get your 60ft down to just a 2.4 which is very doablee and your car should be running 14’s
GSR vs. LS
Is there anyone beating a stock GSR wit a nearly stock LS? im used to running 1/8 and i was running 9.6 but put on a xs power intake mantifold and started running 9.9 for some reason i dont know?
that intake manifold is over kill for your stock ls motor. if you aren’t running any kind of higher compression, cams, or any type of ecu/fuel management, you are probably running lean as hell due to the higher volume of air that intake manifold is creating. i had a stock b18b dyno’d on my old civic and it lost 11 whp from just slapping on a blox manifold so i took it off an threw the stock one back on. i did gain 7 whp with when i threw a higher compression setup in the same car a long with crower 403’s, and crome.
Please update my old 13.8 time.
60’---- 2.00
1/8---- 8.37
mph— 84.98
1/4---- 12.95
mph— 106.45
ran on bfg drag radials
All-motor b20vtec, rs-machine pistons, stock rods with arp rod bolts, stock sleeves, stock crank, b16 head, skunk2 pro1 cams, aebs i/m, hytech replica header, 2.5 kteller exhaust.
mid 12’s are coming with 23’ slicks and 3in exhaust.
good times!
thanks.
how high are you revving out to? what tranny? i think i’m going to have to build a 2.0L after all just to keep up… sigh
bump for time updates
once I get to the track I’ll add something. been really busy lately, but on stock engine running my turbo set-up in the 1/8th I ran a best of 8.7. the engine is sleeved now with lots of other goodies. hoping to hit 12’s with slicks. we’ll see.
update my time:
13.6@102
2.0 60ft time
15" street tires in full street trim; 2500lbs
1.8L 89x81 Vtec
excellent job guys!! I parked up my integra its been 2 years since i last touched it. I never got a chance to finishing my all motor setup i was building. I ended up scraping the project in favor of my vitara build. so far its been great. I was able to run low 11’s for the price of cable b16 tranny with lsd. speak of, I have to rebuild my j1 tranny. Why is it so hard to get parts for these trannys?
i dont think anything is going to be updated last i checked the post was updated jul 07
viprtwo- sorry took so long to answer, Im only reving to 8200 becuase im still on stock rods and sleeves. Im running a ys1 gsr tranny, no lsd. The key to quick all-motor times is the less weight the better. Im sure your motor in what my car weighs could run 12’s with ease.
yah i bet, but i like my interior… i cant imagine gutting it out. but i’ll have to do some things
one thing is for sure… i ran 13.6 with the rear seats in and out, so it wasn’t enough to make a drastic difference.
also as far as my times go.
i ran 13.6@102 with a 2.0 60ft
and just last weekend hit 13.6@103 with a 2.2 60ft.
i think my motor has some more in it before i go for slicks and removing more weight
^ a traction bar, good set of mounts, and solid suspension is key to hitting those 60 footers, also pick up a set of m/t slicks 22x8x15, youll pick up a 2-3mph and get your 60 footer down a little, and should break a 12.
with those slicks ive hit a 1.69 60 footers in my DA all motor.
Also getting a set of 13inch vxs in the back shaved .2seconds off my 1/4 time.
here are some pics
you are running the PIC setup right? 18k rear springs?
whats the scoop on those VX rims? the really light-weight?
They are very light actually shaved .2 seconds.
