Traction Bars???

I like that fac that full-races bars design has gone through all kinds of stress testing that a normal vahicle doens’t go through.

I did not know that. Thank you for that information :baby:

absolutely not.

however, when I called Z10 time and time again to get release information on their DA bars (which had been “in R&D” for over 4 years  ) they treated me like they were doing me a damn favor just by answering the phone.

full-race acted like i was doing THEM a favor by being interested in their product.

totally different customer service. however, i don’t doubt that Z10 makes a great product. they just don’t seem to have the CS knowledge that others do.

im a little worried about this thing holding up. they say it’s 5 times stronger then stock! has anyone ever had any problems with this?also do you have to ajust the arms every once in a while? i really hate heim joints.

What’s 5x stronger than stock? Has anyone experienced problems with what? Arms? Heim joints > you

-Hoots

crossmember and radius rods, 5x stronger than stock.ya the whole thing bar radius rods (im pretty sure were all talking about the full race traction bars) oh btw it replaces the stock crossmember and radius rods just wanted to know if anyone had problems with the unit breaking or getting f-uped

what do you use as a jacking point w/ the aftermarket traction bars?

The ETD looks pretty good for the price. A little bit of extra welding wont hurt anything. Especially if you have the tools available.

you’re fucking joking, right?

you would actually spend your money on something that is so poorly designed and constructed that you have to put in extra effort just to make it work properly?

what the fuck?

isn’t it the job of the people TO WHOM YOU GIVE YOUR MONEY to make sure it works right the first time?

what the hell kind of mentality is that? you are deliberately wanting to give someone your money for a product that has been proven to not be worth a shit unless you go above and beyond what the fabricators do? jesus christ how much did whatever you’re on cost you?

My point is proven…hehe

I am with you personally…but I know that 80% of the tuner-kids out there dont care…neither does the general public.

It’s borderling comical to see the tires that some people roll around on these days…and how often they service their brakes. Two even more important pieces than a traction bar.

Quick…someone go out and drive around without your traction bars bolted on and see what happens :salute:

i knew there was a reason i liked you c-dogg.

:giggle:

spank johnny one time for me if you ever get a chance.

Ive got the Full Race bars on my Integra. Almost wish I didnt buy them, they’ve been a pain in the ass from the start.

Make sure your front end is in perfect shape, beucase if its not then you’ll have problems mounting them. Especially where they mount to the original tow hook mouting points. My only real gripe with the FR bars is the fact they mount to the original tow hook mounting points on the frame rail (and eliminate the tow hooks). Im not an engineer, but I think they should have used both the original mouting spots (oringinal as in for hte stock crossmember) instead of the tow hook spots. I guess solely for convenience (towing, jacking, etc.) You can acutally use the traction bar as a lifting point, btw. Also, had I known they would weld on additional legs for the radiator, I would have had them do it… damn it.

Also, if you get the Full Race ProStreet DA bar make sure you measure the distance from the rear of the wheel well (on your fender) to the tire, so when you get it all installed you can set hte cast to as close to stock as possible. Also, as soon as you get it in, make sure you get an alignment.

Lastly, here are some pictures of how the new version of the FR TB’s mount…

First, you go off saying they are a pain maknig people assume it fits like garbage, then go saynig it will fit bad if your front end is not straight. Sounds like your front end just isn’t straight. Mines was a direct bolt on no problems what so ever. Fit like a glove.

Which means, make sure your front end is in good shape and not tweeked like mine. Everything I stated is true, I wasnt knocking the product or the company they have been in a pain in the ass becuase of my front end not being perfect and straight. I actually had to drill 2 new holes to mount them to the frame rail.

lotta room down there, isn’t there a bar thats perpidicular to the crossmember and where the rack mounts, like dirrectly in the middle

Yes I did state there was welding reqired for the Z10 one. I was told by qickkda6 (first state motorsports) a long time back. He had the Z10 one on his car (the very first version made) so maybe the first versions required welding. The full race one later came out and he decided to try that one out. I asked his pros/cons of both bars since he has used both on his track car. Which I felt was very reliable opinions. I did like the dual bar setup that Z10 has. The Z10 has a little more ground clearance (they say it’s same as stock) than the Full Race. But I like how the Full Race one has the arms that stick out and bolt to the lower part of the frame as well (looks like a stronger design. Full Race already comes with aluminum rods (Z10 you have to pay extra). Full Race already comes powder coated black (Z10 comes unfinished and you have to pay extra if you want it powder coated). I was very tempted by the ground clearance bounus with the Z10, but in reality it seemed to me the Full Race was just the better bar so to hell with the little loss of ground clearance.

Aren’t full-races’s radius arms Chromoly?

guys, I got my z10 bars, black powdercoated and the 92-95 civic rad tabs added for $450 shipped. The same price as on they’re website. The z10 bars have ALOT more ground clearence than the full race setup. I have had them on my car for 1.5+years and they are still in perfect condition. No cracks. They have been through 3 different turbo setups and I always had a broken tranny mount. This would put much more stress on the mount bolted to the z10 crossmember. I have still not had a problem. I even jack my car up from the z10 crossmember every time. I can say, the z10 bars are a quality piece. I also can say, z10’s customer service sucks fat sweaty asss. I have ordered 2 sets from them and both times, they took over 2 months to arrive. I have ordered a set from full-race, they were here in a week. They sent the wrong arms but, they had the right ones too me the next morning. That setup hasnt had any problems either.

Can you talk about the setup with the FR?
