turbo 90 GS clutch question.

Hey Ive got 90 GS going to be running 6-8 PSI daily.

Ive got a new stock honda cutch for my car sitting in the garage, I can put it in when we install the turbo, Just curious if that could hold me off for 4-6 monthes from buying something like an ACT clutch. will it slip constantly or since im not runing too much boost will I be alright for a while?

I sure hope I can use the new stock one for a few monthes.

thanks guys,

u should be fine but why do a clutch job twice? get something affordable. ebay has some crazy nice deals on exedy stage 1 clutches. im personally against xtd clutches etc.

im curently running an exedy organic(stage1) with 211hp and 171 lbs of torque. not sure how much more that it will hold. i got a comp clutch 6 puck from Xenocron for a great price thats going on in the spring. if i were you i would get in touch with him, or get somthing else that will definetly take the power and abuse instead of going with the stock until you get another.

I can get an ACT clutch for about $460 Cdn after tax and itll be here same day, If I order an exedy stage 1 from ebay ill save about … $80-$100 but it wont be here in time for the install, doing it next weekend.

So at 6psi a new stock honda clutch would slip pretty bad eh?

im not sure if it would slip but it wouldnt probably last. if the install isnt this upcoming weekend, theres this ebay seller with 100% feedback. work something out with him for faster shipping. my clutch was shipped the next day. im still waiting for it to come. should be here friday

its not the psi that will be the problem, its the torque and hp that you are puting to the clutch. im sure the stock clutch would be fine if you take it easy till you get soemthing else but it more than likely wont handle any abuse. and if your just going to get and act anyways why not just do it now and save your self some time. maybe even sell the stock one to help fund the act.

yeah Ive decided to order the ACT buddy has it in stock so were going to do the install this weekend and take out all my AC ect for the turbo install the following weekend, this way ill be able to start breaking in the clutch BEFORE the turbo is in it.

good call… good luck with the clutch install and ac removal

whats going to determine if your clutch is going to slip or not is going to be how much torque and hp you going to be making. More than likely its going to need replacement.

Now I gotta determine if Ill need a half rad Its a huge maybe right now.

Got some details on this deal? What stage ACT? Do you think you could hook me up somehow? I’m looking for a clutch. I’ll see with Xenocron but i’d like to be able to buy in Canada not to get raped by custom fees…
