I have a feeling this topic has been beaten to death but, I was just wondering what the best or most used turbo manifold(non log/cast iron) is for our cars. I am going to piece together my own kit for my 91 and i wanted to start with the manifold.Does anyone else on the boards use zdyne? Anyway I have read the guide and it has me pretty psyched about this.
Oh i guess it would be good to know what turbo i am using…i am looking at the garret t3/to4e…any quams quarrels and suggestions are greatly appreciated…thanks.
I am still new to the whole fi thing so bare with me. I am doing my homework and will soon understand it all. Ive been tryin to read the ish on turboedit and pgmfi…but woosh…yeah…that one is going to take a while…is there a guide to this stuff…haha…thanks guys
There are many manifold options. jsut depends on if you want to keep AC/PS or not, and are you gonig to a half rad(which msot manfidls willr equire you to do) I’ve been using ZDYNE SECU for a while now.
I dont really care to keep either of them, in fact the power steering is def. coming out. The ac would be nice but its not a must. Man i would love to keep a full radiator but like you said most of them require the half. I will do whatever it takes to get the best manifold. But i def want to keep the b18a so besides that i am just about willing to sacrifice anything. How do you like the zdyne? I just saw that they seem to be the easiest way to go…it looked to me like a plug and play sort of thing? Correct me if im wrong.Any bad experieces with it? Thank you for your reply
I have an ERL manifold w/ a t3 60trim. I have the downpipe on the driverside and shaved very little off the block. I also run a full size crx radiator w/ two 10" Slim-Line. I have a lot of space left over too.
Chris
hey, ive heard very good things about the inline pro manifold, its pretty cheap to buy and the placement of its waistgate is in a perfect place, it doesnt cause any boost spike or any other weird things, i’d def get it, im in the process of tryin to find one now with a nice 2.5 inch downpipe and new t3/t4e turbo. oh by the way i have a turbo DA with jdm gsr in it now, its pretty sweet but im using a customized greddy kit and the manifold and downpipe totally restrict its power even though i am making great numbers for only 5 psi, 235 whp and 210 torque and this was when it was heatsoaked after a bunch of runs
those are the kinda numbers i want…one more question…i need a half radiator right…from the 92-00 civic(fluidyne)?..Ok so i have decided on the inline pro…i have done a little homeowork…so ive got that and a garret t3/t4e…now all i need is a good wastegate…what size are you guys running…oh and i am going with the hks blowoff valve…and this will be an intercooled system.
i think the inline pro allows for the tial 38mm, turbosmart, deltagate, and probably a few others, the tial i would say would have 1 of the best reputations and you can get a brand new one almost everywhere for just around 200, less if you search around a little bit, btw, i will be running an inline pro mani with tial 38mm wastegate precision sc50 and inline 2.5 stainless dp, its all just sitting in my living room
if you run an inline pro ss manifold you don’t have to run a 1/2 size radiator. also, i ran zdyne for awhile & it was a great system. i only switched because the maps were rpm limited to i about 7200 if i remember. anything after that, & the ecu would “interpolate” the fuel map based on ythe previous cells in the map.
7200?..thats a good bit of info to know…what system do you use now?..i def want a little more room to play with. sweet so i can run a full size fluidyne Man you guys are a great help…thank you…
you should ask Tchleung to find out the exact rev limit of the zdyne. it’s not that it won’t work at rpms higher than 7200 or whatever it is, it’s just that there are no cells on the map past that point, so the ecu basically has to guess the rest of the map.
if you are obd-0, then you don’t have many choices. your best bet if you want to run a different system is to either get a standalone ecu (motec, autronic, speedpro, etc) or you can get an obd-0 to obd-1 harness to convert your car and then run something like neptune, hondata, etc…
gotcha…yeah man i have been looking for a damn harness to go obd1 for a while becuase i like hondata products. standalone would be kind of cool. where can i find the best prices? Yeah i will hit up tech when i get home…thanks
Hey Thanks Alot Guys…lots Of Options To Go With Here… I Still Need To Sort Out My Ecu Issues…but For Right Now, After Doing My Homework, Im Going To Go Ahead And Do A Full Build. I Figured If I Am Going To Have Another Motor And Am All Ready Going To Dump A Bunch Of Money Into It I Might As Well Go All Out. So Hopefully In The Next 6 Months Or So I Will Have A Motor To Show All Of You…again Thanks For Your Input.
