I started off with an ebay junk kit, then slowly replaced parts as they failed on me, which they did… These are some older pictures. I’ve got a few new parts as of now:
I desperately need a recommendation on a new clutch though… Something that will hold around 250-275hp, and is $500 or less. Any ideas?
i haven’t boosted my car yet but i just installed a competition stage 5 and it seems pretty nice. its rated for 300% stock power… we’ll see. it was cheap though 320 bucks or something.
I’ve always wonder if the egay turbo kits really does hold on at least longer then 1 yr if not the turbo itself going bad.
I figured alot of people whom owns a turbo loves to push it hardcore/MAX rev and burnouts.
I’m not talking about street racing or track racing alone. Who ever you are I just think YOU PUSH IT WAY too hard. Not even talking about engine damage or internals at all as this is straight forward about turbo kit. I understand the kit comes with cheap made material and what not and the welds may not last overtime, but all in all i believe if not pushing more than what it is recommended for 0-8psi or something and tuning it right it should last over 8 months or a lil longer.
Basically a good turbo, wastegate, and BOV, but with ebay pipes and intercooler would still be fine.
I myself is planning on boosting up to 8psi max one day with a greddy turbo kit. Yea i love fast spools and wont mind 180-220whp max. DD with 200-225whp is enough for me. No i dont want more so stfu. And stage 2 clutch kit with 12.0lbs flywheel is enough to keep my rpm up high.
i got a 98 LS head and bout to get a turbo built GSR bottom end… alot of ppl say that this is a bad combo… but i dont wanna be doing a vtec build just like everyone else. i mean if i find a built LS bottom end then ill scoop that… but i got someone willing to sell me a built GSR block for cheap so i think i wanna go with that… i already have a few parts, Skunk2 pro 70mm TB, skunk2 pro 70mm IM … getting the kit together as we speak and getting cams soon for the head and getting it cleaned up. im only hoping for around 230whp… but im pretty sure if i get the build going how it should i’d be way over that… has anyone ever seen or heard of using a GSR block with an LS head?

just on 5lbs for now. but 12 lbs and a motorola 2.5bar map sensor coming soon
I have never heard of anyone doing that, is it possible? doesn’t the gsr block have oil feeds or something that the ls head wont support? I don’t know, someone else would know more about it than me. I have a question though, why wouldn’t u just purchase a whole ls motor for cheap and build it?
this car is built for the track, function over form… i dont care what it looks like.
