ok i want to turbo my da integra 1992, it has a b16 in it. i am going to run a jg fab exhaust manifold and a garrett t3/t04e 57 trim. but i have been looking at pic of turboed da’s and i see that almost all of them are mounted to where the intake faces the right (drivers side) of the engine bay and the hot side intercooler pipe comes up and across the top and down. my question is on the setup i will be running which way will the turbo face and do i have to run the hot side intercooler pipe up and across then down to the turbo?
you can have it either way you want it
is it perfered to be facing with the intake side of the turbo to the right, and the hot side intercooler pipe running up to the top of the bay and then down to the turbo? is there any better performance to gain from either way cause i see alot of the da’s with the turbo facing the right?
its all up to you how you want it to face. i dont think theres a diffrence. if you have the intake side facing the passenger side the down pipe is gonna be harder to make.on my turbo setup im gonna be running the intake side on the drivers side and the hot side on the passanger side. so the down pipe is eazyer to make
so are you going to run the intercooler piping up and over then down the turbo?
like the pics on this link the ic piping on the drivers side of the car.

it doesnt really makes a difference… most people run the compressor side on the drivers side so they can fit a bigger turbo and not have to worry about clearance issues… you can run your intercooler piping however you want… you can run it up and over, or under or if you dont have ac, you can go with a backdoor setup… whatever floats your boat
whats the back door setup, ive heard that a couple of times i am wondering what it is.

pretty much the intercooler connects right to the turbo…
ok thanks i see it now. but thats to pricey for me right now.
