Turbo Question

I have a quick question. I want to lay down 250hp to the wheels on my stock B18a. The only thing I’m gonna do to the bottom end is get brand new low compression pistons and rings and new gaskets, seals, etc. What kind of turbo would be right for me? Thanks guys…

get a set of cp pistons and eagle rods and your good to go with that. I would suggest a garrett t3/t4 57 trim turbo. youll hit your mark with that, if not more.

What would my CR be with the CP pistons, and around how much psi would I need to run? Thnx bro…

id run a gt2560r for 250whp if you never plan on boosting higher. that thing will spool ridiculously quick you’ll love it!

^ that would be the GT2860RS.

I have one and it spools up very nicely, I have a full 8PSI at 2700RPM.

gt2860rs would also be an excellent choice. i run a gt2871r and spool 8psi at 3200rpm, 18psi at 4000rpm.

sorry for jacking your thread but what’s good for daily driving and with stock motor and bolt-ons?

How is your gas milage on that turbo? I mean if your doing regular daily driving, does it effect your gas milage? Just curious…

It is not a daily driver.
Mileage dropped alot! We speak in Metric down here so I went from about 8L/100km to about 11L/100km I think.
Hard to really say though, it is not something I look at and when I take it out it always involves a bit of ‘spirited’ driving.
Great fun stomping the pedal in second at 3000rpm though! lights up the fronts no worries.
This is on a JDM B18C BTW

i actually get better gas mileage once i was turbo’d. on the highway only though, city driving stayed about the same.

if your only shooting for 250 at the wheels i would keep the block stock. if the cp test and leak down is good 250 to 300 is fine on a bone stock LS. just head studs and a oem headgasket. as for the turbo if u can get your hands on a Nissan gtir turbo OR even a GT28R from a spec R S15 youll be in heaven.

good luck
