turbo return line and header wrap

So I installed a return line and it is about 1/2 in away from the downpipe so I wrapped the downpipe and turbo line in header wrap because I didn’t want it to melt like the last one. But now I get a funny smell from the engine that smells like something is smoking I took that header wrap off the downpipe and the smell isn’t as bad but the wrap is still on the line but isn’t touching the downpipe.

could it be that it is just the return line getting broken in?

use thermal sehilds crap
from thermal tec

not header wrap

might as well just buy a stainless steel line. Looks and quality and it performs. for 40-50 bucks.

it is a stainless steel line and it melted last time. But found the problem I think I blew a ring. So now I am looking for an engine swap for my turboed Integ. I was thinking one of the these swaps B18a, b18b, or b20 with ls head (non-vtec). but I am leaning towards a b18a or b18b since they are better at having boost.

An engine ,built specifically for a forced induction application, will accept boost even better than your choice(s).
