what u guys think???

i ran my stock b18a1 (150 000km) at 18psi with a GT2871R and made 300whp and 292ft-lbs torque. all i did to the engine was ARP headstuds with a fresh oem headgasket. custom turbo setup with 550cc injectors. it was such a fun setup to drive i miss it. never blew it either i ended up tearing it apart and now i have a built ls/vtec with the same turbo setup. the stock engine can handle 300whp no problem i have seen so many turbo setups on stock b series engines.

running a b18a1 with 170k miles. never rebuilt. t3 4 turbo. 6 pounds of boost with stock everything. it rips first and second and chrips third. fast as crap. stock engine pushed 105 hp and 106 tq on the dyno. havent got around to dyno with turbo yet. but im guessin around 170-185ish. stock everything means stock everything. top to bottom. running straight pipe off of down pipe.

I don’t know if I count but my motor is stock besides some cams. I got 380/300 on 12 lbs but don’t drive it daily. So can’t say much on daily reliablitly but I haven’t had any problems with it at all for the past 7 months. Everytime its taken out though, it sees track time so its driven pretty hard. Dunno if I helped at all but good luck!!

thanks 2 all the replies keep them comin!!!

well i puttin in and it start it right away and sounds strong still havent taking the teggy out still waitin on slim fans, fix my temp gauge and check engine light code 16

I have a B18B1 on t3/t4 on neptune low boost 12 lbs 265/254 high boost 17lbs 336/306 stock motor…mild tune.once it dies i’ll have a b18c in there…oh and i have about 183k…been turbo since 2005

nice specs on tht t3t4 “nyg2”

im gonna street tune @ 10 psi for now for break in and then go for 12 14 or whatever takes me 2 350-375whp.

just waiting on the guy 2 come and tune it.

Old thread but worth the reply.

B18C1 w/ 250k miles on the engine and trans. Never rebuilt. ARP head studs and new OEM head gasket.

Precision SC34 .57 trim @ 7psi made 272whp/192wtq for 6 months then retuned @ 10.5psi for 2 years now, estimated 310whp. It pulls away from my brother’s '02 WRX’s pump gas tune (323awhp/298awtq) (teg is roughly 500lbs lighter than the rex).

Anyway, even at a 1/4 million miles (35k of them boosted), the GSR motor refuses to die and keeps asking for more, no smoke, compression range is 200-210psi on all cylinders, I love it.

More info on this please!! Fuel, log or RAM manifold? Ar on turbo?
