Turbo Sizing to motor

My goal for my car is about 250-275 on a LS motor, I found a turbo in the junkyard off a saab 9000 and the specs read as follows! T3 .42 cold .48 Hot I don’t know how to read compressor maps, but from what i’ve been told this turbo would have quick spool, but a crappy top end, but I figure with my LS motor not going any higher than 6,800 why worry about high revs! Any better suggestions someone could pass along, this setup might be ran on stock internals, still thinking about it though!

you will be extremely hard pressed to get 275 from that snail. if i remember correctly, those turbos are only like a 40trim…

id look for a .48/.60 or a .63/.60 from a T-bird, or just buy a hybrid

td05h.
quick spool and dosent have the wonky garret compressor veins that kill top end. plus its water cooled.

That turbo is just not big enough for that kind of power now a mitsu turbo 20g or some of their turbos have been know for 300hp but I would just get a t3/t4 because it will be easier to mod and upgrade(mani, downpipe, etc).

I would get a T3super60 for a stock LS. It will get you where you want to be and is a perfect fit for that engine. I made 220hp at 7psi with my setup. I was running it up to 11-12psi with no problems, just never got a dyno at 12.

Heres my dyno at 7psi:

Damn, thats smooth, no spikes, great looking dyno run and looks lik great tuning!!:corn:

Hey Chunk what kinda setup are you running? Im planning on turbboing soon and would like to see what kinda internals you got.

Thanks! I downloaded a Xenocron tune from his website, which got my like 80%, then I tuned to the final product using turboEdit.

Its a completly stock motor with 134k original miles. The engine has never been apart. - http://home.comcast.net/~chunk/mysetup/mysetup.htm
