i have a D1 spec auto timer…everything works but my car won’t stay on when I take out the key…the only thing that stays on is the radiator fan…
you have the power wire hooked to the wrong source. it needs to go directly to the ignition. it will continue to provide 12V’s when your key is removed. although I don’t know the wiring colors, each turbo timer operates the same. it has a 12v source that is on your ignition, the acc(I think). when you turn your key to remove it, it will engage the countdown and output 12v’s to your other ignition wire from the turbo timer, keeping everything on.
more info. would be useful.
just an example…this is not specific to our cars
the 12 volt…its the really big white wire right? because that’s where i spliced it too…
I can’t remember for sure. i did mine over 4 years ago, so I would have to take a look under the dash.
smokeintegra, we would appreciated it if you can clear this up for us?
I’m curious because I’ll be using a turbo-timer myself.
OK, had to look at mine again. this is how it goes:
12V constant = White wire
12V ignition = Black with yellow stripe
12V accessary = white with red stripe
ground = any ground will do
please double check these wires before you go and blow something. this is what worked on mine. i also have an alarm and other electronics but those voltages I did verify.
Thanks Smoke!
someone please try this and let me know if it works. I’m 99% sure it will but want to archive this for others to come later.
gonna try this probably in couple days…tough taking apart just to reach the ign. wires…
