ok guys if, this is my goal, 200whp out of fully stock b18a engine with only upgrade being a stage 3 clutch, no tune, no injectors, no camgears,no head work, etc. you get my drift, just staight boost. you might ask your why would any one do that. well because if any of you guys that read alot i started a thread call FREE B18C OR H22!!!, well the H has arrived, i am getting a h2b kit and a gsr hydro tranny for it, plus all the other goodies that go into making a good turbo build, so you can see where i want to put my funds and why,and then out of no where i ran into a nice little t3 garrett .42-.48 turbo out of a 84 or 88 daytona, now my question to guys is, for my b18a motor at what boost(psi) you think Iam going to be making 200whp with a turbo that size, keep in mind iam not tuning at all.
if your not tuning at all your engine wont even start. so abort the project instantly.
no tuning = no point
your engine will be toast first pull. might as well literally burn your money and save the engine.
im assuming you’re just going to run a basemap?
wow redteg and polsk, you guys are red hot huh, lol. ok then, thanks for not going off on me Tegget, yes i was planning on running a basemap, i guess i figure if anyone who was going to respond to this thread that would be a given, just like if i say iam going to turbo my engine, anyone can ask me what brand wastgate, bov, intercooler etc. iam going to use, cause its a given, i know for my engine to last i need it tune but thats not what i asked, i wanted to know what psi-(range) can i expect 200whp if i can get there at all with those injector and a turbo like that.
I’d be guessing from 8-11 psi
haha well you said no tuning at all, which means not even a basemap. should of just stated you want to run on a basemap with no further tuning.
anywaze, about 8-11 psi is right with that size turbo. good luck. you’ll need it.
thanks for the response guys, and yes, iam going to need the luck, but thats ok, cause that just mean the H has to going sooner.lol …
34psi and a GT40R. just run your stock injectors, no fuel pressure increase, and your stock PR4. make sure when you do this you dont run an intercooler, and no downpipe. also make sure to let your wastegate dump into the radiator.
and turbog2 your and ass
a good way you can get away with doing this, is by using the map bypass, with a Vortech FMU. that will be all you need with no tuning for the time being. it shoud run you no more than $140. that is about the cheapest to go. although not the best…it works
