I had orderd a 3" Flowtech “Y” pipe with manual block off plate(M Cutout) a wihle ago and I’m in the process of redoing my exhaust to all 3" as well. I was curious and had an idea… Mount the “Y” pipe backwards so it acted as a merge pipe. and on the straight end. It is welded onto exhaust. the pipe that branches off which goes to a flange. then bolted to another flange. I would weld a 1.5" pipe off that flange and use flex pipping to connect that to the dump tube… Here is a bad picture. Anyone have any idea if this will mess up the flow of the exhaust or anything? Basically going from 1.5" to 3" then merged in…
The upside to this is I could unbolt the wastegate piping and bolt on a new block off plate if I were to want to run open vent…
Why go thru all that work? Dont you want to be able to use the open downpipe from time to time? If you mount it backwards…not sure how tha will work at all…
Well I had decided to not have a cutout anymore really. so I didn’t wanna waste what I’ve already bought so thought I could use it for something else. Just have to see fi I have room for it.
Why not use it?
I think Im going to get a 2.5" flowtech Y pipe for the track 
I changed my mind I might still sue it as a cutout and route my dump tube in from the otehr side…
Hey Xenocron. what size magnaflow did you get? the 5x8 oval or 4x9? What’s te clearence you have from the muffler to the ground and got any pics of how lowered you are?
I might install my magnaflow in stock orientation but it’s a 5x8" and when I hold ti up. It hands pretty far down. Only have about 2" clearence…
Im not sure Tch…it’s def visiable but it wont bottom out at all…the resonator and/or downpipe is much more vulnerable.
It looks and sounds stock until that wastegate opens which is why I like it.
Bought it from Kteller.com a while ago now…

Yeah I found 1 picture. Just kinda hard to tell. Thanks. I ended up just getting full 3" with dynomax bulelt muffler as resonator and 5x8 magnaflow 3 “in/out. I guess I’ll see if I can route it that way… Prolly gonna paine the entire axleback flat black and a small 3” tip of some sort on the end.
