i read from the g2ic turbo guide that there is a spot to run vacuum lines located on the back of the b18a intake manifolds. is that also on the a1’s? and if so where is it located cuz im just confused about it and im doin my turbo project this weekend so i wanna make sure i do it right. Thanks for the help in advance
well, on the b18a1’s, there are 2 vacuum ports on the back that normally go to purge solenoids, you can tap into them with a " T " or just remove the purge solenoids, and run them there.
you happen to have a pic to show me what you are talkin about? what are the purge solenoids for? can i just disconnect them and be done with them or do i need to hook them up some other way?
the vacuum lines are on the driver side of the manifold. if you just look back there, you will see 2 black tubes (the vacuum lines) that come from the manifold, to some little black tube things. those black tube things are the purge solenoids.
i think those are just to clean the air before they go to the charcoal canister & fuel pressure regulator.
so…i can remove the charcoal canister and those 2 solenoids without a problem just as long as i cap everything? What about the red hose that connects to the firewall from the canister?
Yeah, I just did that, and I shortened my map senosor line and ran it off of one of those fittings and then my fuel pres. reg. off of the other. So I got rid of all the metal lines.
i just made a t into my fpr vac source.
