Vafc/turbo ?

Im Ready To Put My Turbo On But I Was Wondering If I Can Use The Vafc For Tunning I Really Dont Wanna Spend Alot Of Money On A Stand Alone I Was Just Planning On Boosting 8 Psi On A Small T28 Turbo So Any Answers Would Be Helpful

This has been cover over and over and over and over…let it rest. trash the afc…:wtf: :ghetto: . Do it right

well i figure if i can boost with what i have now why bother buy some crap i dont need

you asked for an answer and he gave you one and i totally agree with him. If you want it done then do it right.

standalone chipping of your ECU is cheaper than buying a VAFC and the results a million times better. Look up xenocron tuning solutions, a g2ic sponsor

VAFC is a fancy vtec light with minor tuning capabilities. They advance your timing and whenever you disconnect their battery they lose their tune (except for the newer NEO) so be prepared to get out the pencil and paper. Turboedit and BRE freeware are leaps and bounds better than a VAFC.

Take this analogy:

Would you honestly write with a chisel and mallet in this day and age when we have pencils and pens…or email lol?

^I like

if you already have the afc and just plan to do no more than 8psi then get some dsm 450cc injectors and do the afc hack. it’ll work. and it’s been done over and over again. everyone on the forums will tell you to do turboedit or uberdata but that’s only if you have a local dyno to help tune. This is what everyone did b4 the uberdata and turboedit:jerkoff: …just my 2 cents

thanks srteg i already got the dsm injectors guess ill just do that thanks for the help guys

for listening to him you deserve the fate that will happen to you

tsk tsk tsk

Just a few things…

The afc does not lose it’s tune when the bttery is disconnected because they have an internal memory. Just like their AVCR/SAFC/Rev-Sped meter etc. I totally agree with getting rid of it as it will be the death of your motor due to crazy timing advance when you trim the fuel to accomdate the 450’s. As for the, “This is what everyone did b4 the uberdata and turboedit” Although this may be true, why make the same mistakes we did before realizing the proper way to do things? Why repeat our mistakes when we’ve already solved all the guess work…

SELL the AFC, get you ecu socketted for 50 bucks. and have it tuned and you might even end up with money back.

Or take the advice of dipshits and run an FMU with the missing link (check valve). Just a matter of time before your shit grenades.

When the motor goes boom boom japan don’t punk out. Come back on here and tell us so we can have a good laugh. Imagine it blowing on a date!

If possible, record

mm nah. it would be depressing

i have a friend running afc for almost 3 years now with street tunning first he started with a stock ls for one year then he upgraded to gsr and now two years boosting 9 pounds in his integra never had any problem.
as long as you dont abuse it and have some one with expirience to tune it.
my friend has no smoke or any aother problems with it and the car runs really strong beaten cobras and other turbo cars.

Weather it runs or not, it has to actually run right. Just because it’s been going for a while doesn’t mean it’s running properly. It can, and will make more power if tuned with an EMS, and not a piggyback. Once you realize in what manner the AFC works, you realize how dangerous it can be. The bigger the injectors, the worse it’s going to be.

tuning with the vafc can be very dangerious
you need something that can control both fuel and timming
