apparently there are 2 types of the 255, a standard version and a high pressure version. which would be reccomended for a goal of 300whp using a stock fuel rail and fpr?
I am curious about the same thing. I am not aware of the differences and a search came up empty. I am setup for all motor but I am still wondering what the difference is
The short answer… 255HP
These are quotes from another forum on the performance of the two…
“at 80 PSI the standard 255 lph pump will flow around 132 liters (35 gallons) per hour” … that means 2200 cc/min
“At that same 80 PSI the equivalent forced induction fuel pump will flow over 210 liters (50 gallons) per hour”
This is what I have… 210 lph means 3500cc/min!!!
chunk did you have to upgrade your fpr or no, cause i dont want to mess with all of that too much
I upgraded my Fuel Pump.
yeah i know you upgraded he fuel pump, thats my last thing i need to buy, but i was wondering if you upgraded your fuel pressure regulator as well with the hp or if you kept the stock one? and how much boost are you running?
Just get the HP (high pressure) one. I buy ten of these at a time, and the price difference is like 10 bucks. It would be stupid to not get the HP.
Sorry, no I didnt upgrade my FPR and was running 11psi. I’ll prolly tune my new setup close to that also.
ok thanks for the info, anyone else have any expierience?
anyone else running the walbro 255 hp or standard?
standard here. this is the second setup ive run the standard in. i dont see a need for the hp, especially if you run large injectors and decently tuneable management (as opposed to like an fmu setup where you need to see 80+psi in the fuel system)
