wastegate exhausting, dont like it

How much is it to get my wastegate to vent into the downpipe? I dont like how loud it is and ive been told its not good to have it vent into my engine. Can i just buy a dump tube that lets it vent into the downpipe? If so where can i buy one and how much is the going price for one? Thanks for any help.

With all the turboed tegs on here no one can help me? :hmm:

go to an exhaust shot and have them make you a dump pipe . you can either dump into the atmosphere or into you down pipe .

Um… you have it dumpnig straight off the wastegate into the bay!!! lol damn man. get a flange and pipe and point it at the ground. exit it by your tranny or somewhere

Here was my old setup

tube comni off WG to passenger side then 90* downards

then out fornt of tranny

Mines go straight to the bottom

Good ol HT

is it still going to be loud if i have it like Tchleung? What i dont like is the fact that my wastegate is louder than my exhaust and its exhausting in the engine bay. I will probably have a dump tube made.

It will still be loud. Just safer with it not venting in the engine bay. use a 1.5" diameter piping. Only wy to make it queit is to route it back into the downpipe.

…which causes a loss of power.

Venting to atmosphere hardly makes any more power then recirculated into the downpipe if you connect the two properly, and far enough back. If someone is about all out power like a drag setup, then yes you’d want to open vent it. My new downpipe has the dump tube recircualted back in. If it does prove to cause a large enough power loos, no biggy, just flick my E-Cutout switch and bye bye hahahaha.

20" back from turbo. Not the ideal entry angle, but it’ll work pretty good.

ive been told different things about loss of power. I went to the local performance shop and they said i wont loss any power but then ive been told it will. So is there a certain way or distance i would have to route it to the downpipe? If there is a loss would it be noticeable loss? I like the set up with it connected farther down the downpipe. Did you loss ne power with that set up?

Minimum is 18" from the turbo. that’s where you want to route ti back in. the further down, the better.

Here’s a pic of my setup, so glad I did this.

Looks good man! 3" exhaust? Is it jutst the picture or does the pipping hang kinda low?

2.25" thermal :shy:

The piping hangs a little low, espically the downpipe. I have a beefy skidplate now though

wait wait wait. Ive never heard that you would lose power from recirculating. It doesnt even make sense that you would. all your doing is controlling the turbos rpm, all the exhaust passing threw is useless.

If the exhaust that recirculates back intot eh downpipe comes in at too harsh of an angle or too clsoe to the turbo, it creates turbulence which can slow exhaust flow.

ehh, I guess, but theres no way it would make you loss more than 1hp. just use a 3in turbo back.

Really, I dont see it doing enough that would warrent not recirculating.
