I want the quietest BOV available. I don’t care how much it will cost (withing reason, i’m not spending $500 on a BOV). I need it for my sleeper project.
I am using a HKS B-series log manifold w/ a new Mitsubishi TDO516G turbo running 10lbs w/ USDM B18C1.
BTW it’s in a otherwise virgin DA9 with the all to popular Milano red with pink roof, boot, and bonnet and 14" steelies w/ the cracked acura hubcaps. And yes, that’s how it’s going to stay!
most of the aftermarket BOVs just get louder. You can take your pick of some that either flutter or some that make more of a ‘tweet’ sound. If you want something quiet then just get a DSM and recirculate it versus venting it.
The 1G DSM BOV is what I have fabed up right now, but it is just to loud.:rant: I have it resurculated, but if I get it up above 5psi, I can still hear it.
Hey party kid, do u have one of those tiny “side mount” intercoolers mounted where the old air box used to be? Just wondering how ppl mount intercoolers for a sleeper look.
got a 2g recirculated on my brothers dsm. I can barely here that shit whoosh. Consider the plastic POS 2g then. They are dirt cheap.
I’m thinking that you most likely have the re-entry point to close to the air filter.
Post some pics up. It still can be a sleeper if you’re posting pics over the internet. It’s not like I live in the same city and I’m going to go around and tell all the v8 drivers about your super duper 12 second ratty looking integra. It’s not like you have some experimental technology that is classified by NASA.
scratchymaster , I have a 1G Eagle talon Side mount intercooler where the Air intake resonator once was. The current issue with my set-up is how much area on the charge side. I have it running rom the turbo, down to the bottom of the driver side of the radiator, across the bottom, and into the SMIC. Then up to the throttle body. I was thinking of moving the SMIC to where the intake filter box goes, but I already have my time and money into this.
gfb is the one your thinking of where you can control the volume. i have one on my car and its quiet. but because it its not hooked up to recirc, its really starting to suck when i shift. i bought it with it on there.
um yeah i have a maf… sorry didnt clairify i currently have a wrx, traded the teg in for it. so yeah the aftermarket one on it sucks just because it vents out.
my buddy has a perrin bov for a sti (should be same for the wrx) that i have here at my house, i forgot how it sounds, but want me to ask if he wants to sell it?
