I am building a turbo setup wit a t3/t4 turbo .50ar and i am wonder which compression is gonna work best for me. a 9:1 or 10:1. my plans r to get it tuned at 15psi but drive it around at like 9psi. the block will have forged internals. O and its a b18 block sleeved.
If you have an equally cost effective choice, then I would suggest 9:1.
why 9:1 over the 10:1?
High compression would be a bad idea with 15 PSI, more of a chance for detonation. Higher compression (when boosting) will also cause more heat and actually decrease your engines efficiency(sp?), resulting in less power.
Just noticed your in the Inland Empire, Cali 91 octane gas is terrible for boost as is, the lower the compression the better (to an extent).
