What have you done to your Integra today? (Part 1)

Worked on the new shell a couple of days ago. Not much more than that. My wrecked GSR is still sitting where the exhaust tore off. Dont feel like messing with it.

Got the seals and new hardware and silicone and HOPEFULLY got the damn passenger side water leak sealed. :P:P. Also I replaced the valve cover gasket and the cam plug…no more leaks!

picked this stuff up today, b16 heads at the shop getting cleaned up and new seals etc. Waiting for that and my new Neptune tuning stuff to come in and then it’s b20v time. Expect pics in the DB1 thread or maybe a small build thread if I can get Rayzian to photog the job for me.

I drove it for the first time in a while tonight. The steering wheel rubs a bit but other than that it’s great. It allows me to use the pedals with a more straight leg so I have to learn not to cancel my signal light on left hand turns with my knee. Also I forgot how grumpy people get about the low and slow mentality.
Got my NRG steering wheel, short hub and quick release last night and felt ambitious. It was extremely easy to install and I just need to rig up my horn so it actually works. Does anyone know why I have to tap into the horn/cruise control buttons vs just putting a connector on the end?
I found hooking up the horn to be fairly easy, you just need to mod you cc harnes a little bit and pick up a OE shoe horn contact piece. Shoot me an email or I have pics of it in my build thread(pg 79, so you dont have to dig threw the whole thing.lol) if you need a hand figguring it out.

I never thought of doing it that way. What I ended up doing was pulling the metal strip out of a cheap plastic flashlight and bending it 90 degrees so it pushed against the ring and the plastic that is in front of the turn signal stock. It works but it does involve soldering and tapping into the horn wire. As for the cruise control I just took the connector from the factory ring and soldered it onto the end of the cc switches so it should be plug and play once I figure out where to mount them.

What exhaust did you go with?

Tanabe Touring Medallion, sounds good. Intake is still louder.

That’s what I want for my exhaust. My stock setup was rusted out and the setup I have now sounds good down low but as soon as I get above 3k, it gets all raspy. I hate it. I’m more worried about finishing my VTEC conversion right now, but as soon as that’s done the next step is that exhaust for sure.

Here’s an update as to what I’ve been doing aside from the VTEC work tho, although the cluster is kinda to compliment the conversion

Interior update, need to clean it up but here it is for now…

Grant Wood grain, SpeedStar extended B&M short shifter w/Sk2 shift knob, 96 Lude deck, DB2 cluster. Now I gotta figure out where to put my wideband gauge. I don’t like to have it up on the pillar, or really up anywhere on top of the dash where it’s easily visible.

How do like that B&M? I want one and my Megan is always vibrating and getting loose.

Da6YO, still have the leather steering wheel?

Fixed my A/C!

I picked up the B&M cheap cause the bearing were gone and basically no one sells them. I’m sure that if you measured the bore and the bolt that passed thru it, you could match it up. What I did and I’ve done this a few times now is I buy a couple packs of teflon faucet washers you need 4 washers, shave them down if needed to fit the bore, or high temp silicone them in then drill the hole out to fit snug on the bolt. Not as tight as a brand new shifter bushing, but works great and I have no vibration issues with my shifter and I have hasport mounts.

Fixed my icu problem!!!

I still got it, need to send you pics.

That kinda sounds like what I’ve been wanting to do, sounds like a project for next weekend.

Yeah its fairly easy. If you can swap a shifter by yourself, then this is not the hardest part. My B&M, the bore in the bottom of the shifter is smaller then a stock shifter so I had to shave down the teflon washers but on stock shifters I’ve done this to for friends, the largest faucet washers were just a little too small. Silicon’d them in and let that harden and they’ve been good so far. Like I said tho not as tight as a brand new shifter, still pretty good.

Replaced the oil pan gasket. Used felpro and a tube of rtv black. MUCH needed and no more leaking. It was getting really bad. I rounded off a downpipe bolt, but other than that, it went well.

Dealer put in a new transmission mount. Steering wheel vibration at idle is gone. It is smoother than when it was new. Seriously! I can still remember the salesman slipping it into neutral at the stoplight to take my attention off the vibration. Motor mounts have been replaced here and there but the transmission vibe was always there.

I put it a new igniter and drove it for the first time in over a month. It feels soooo good to be back in that car =]

installed my electric spoon mirrors and no name duel bend short shifter with purple type r rep shift knob also cleaned and washed the da
