What have you done to your Integra today? (Part 1)

Today my car started overheating due to a blown rad fan fuse. I replaced that and decided to check my thermostat and water inlet housings and in the process, snapped a bolt. That caused me to have to drill out and back out the broken bolt. Its all fixed now though.

put regas on.

This was delivered for her today…

I order in a A/C tensioner to get a/c for my db1

i pulled my dash out today… now to pull ac system and heater…

Well since its the middle of the night…we will call it May 11th. Today I replaced my tag light bulbs, because Nassau county cops are pretty rough…the bulb covers also had overspray, so I used some paint stripper on that…and FYI, I used amber bulbs for my tag lights, and I have to say it looks pretty dope…should have pics up of that on my thread tomorrow night for any who wants to see.

Got this

Finally decided to install my greddy catback exhaust that I found at the junkyard.

It had a new resonator installed. The muffler had some loose material inside from shaking but when installed, didn’t hear anything. The tip is ugly, sticks out like a sore thumb and is bent at the top. Previous owner tried to make a dual exhaust by welding another outlet on the passenger side and probably another owner cut it off and welded it shut.

My Sebring exhaust MIGHT be for sale. Not too sure yet. It sure is heavier than this greddy by a lot and bigger by the size of the muffler. Turns out my stock oem mid/b-pipe’s resonator is loose. Which is probably the cause of this rattle I kept hearing for awhile. Time to trash it.

today i bought a p28 with hondata s300 V2, an old school STR fuel rail, an AEM fuel pressure regulator and some DSM 440cc injectors…just a few more parts till im done!

I removed my ww resevoir, and the bottom part of the intake, which involved me taking off the bumper…overall easy stuff to do…also removed misc clips, etc out of the engine bay…the bay is definately coming together. Still needs paint though.

Filled up my PS reservoir and put in a CAI , bumper was a pain to get off had to rip the bottom as box thing out due to the fact that the bolts were so rusted , anyone ever have an issue with water or dirt getting into the intake piping? Just seems a little sketchy down there in the fender well/bumper

I used to get a lot of fine dust built up down where the airfilter is but I took a turn signal lens from my old winter beater and cover those two openings and the amount of debris severely went down. As for water, rain has never been an issue but I always try to be mindful of the area when using a pressure washer.

Alright thanks for the info, ill have to take the bumper off again and get at that area with some shop air and clean it up then try to seal up that area some more, i got the intake off ebay, so i was used to a Short Ram AEM one i had in my civic , and this Cold Air one looks see through i wasnt so sure of the reliability ya know, just gonna wait to try it out til i get my steering wheel spacer kit in

I got my cold air intake off ebay as well. It came with just a metal mesh screen(no filtration other than keeping small birds out of the intake) so I just found an AEM filter that fit and used that. Speaking of which I should probably blow out the filter sometime soon.

Filters generally should not be cleaned with compressed air. Read the instructions for your specific brand/model. Most standard “wet” filters can be cleaned with the widely available K&N filter cleaner and a GENTLE stream of water followed by allowing them to dry and then applying air filter oil.

Absolutely agree with this… compressed airt may get dust out, but often fails to break down oils etc. that get picked up during normal operation and capture dust particles. Hence the above mentioned use of the AEM filter cleaner… you also want to note whether you have a dry or wet filter. Dry being you clean it with the cleaner and put it back on after it is dried out, wet being after cleaning and drying you use AEM filter oil on it before reinstalling.

That all said I need to prolly clean the pollen out of my filter it’s been pretty damn bad this year lol

And so the plot thickens. On the box it said it was a dry filter so I always assumed just blowing it out is fine and that I didn’t need to use a cleaner. Today I learned haha.

I believe the danger is more that it could damage the filter element more so than it simply not cleaning well enough. The AEM and K&N procedures look to be the same minus the oiling.

In related news, the K&N cleaner seems to be a pretty good degreaser. I haven’t tried it on other things but it says it can be used on all sorts of things, even removing stains from concrete.

It was in the mid 90’s today with 90% humidity so I decided instead of washing her during the day…I’d give her a midnight wash & wax
