what the 92-93 tegs are called in Japan?

OK i know they call the 92-96 Sir civic hatchbacks EG6’s…why? i dunot know. but what is the integra called. ive heard that the 92-93 XSi’s are DA6’s can anyone confirm this for me or let me know what they are because im gonna use that in my personalized license plate. thanks guys

I believe DA6 is your answer… they are the ones that come with the B16A, so yes, they are the XSI.

And DA9 would be the USDM teg with B18A.

And DB1 would be the 92-93 GSR.

Anyone please correct me if I’m wrong

And remember these are Chasis codes, Integra is still called Integra in Japan…

thats cool…i didnt know what those codes were for…i just know like in initial D they called the civic a EG6 and never knew what the hell that was…and i know the integra was the integra in japan…just didnt know what that code was or what it ment. thanks startroops

GSR is DB2. At least this holds true for my vehicle. And yes, these are just chassis codes but in Japan they tend to designate the cars by chassis codes more than in the US from what I have seen. They are integras in Japan but with different option level names. XSi = B16A powered DOHC VTEC Integra where as in the US GSR = B17A DOHC VTEC powered integra.

DAs

DA6 and DA8 are the ones w/ VTEC engines.

DA5 - 3D Hatchback DA w/ ZC Engine. grades: Txi, Rxi, Zxi (pre-minor change), ZX, ZXi (after minor change)

DA6 - 3D Hatchback DA w/ B16A Engine. grades: Rsi, Xsi

DA7 - 4D w/ ZC Engine. grades: RX, ZX, RXi, ZXi, (pre mc) ZX Extra, Zxi (after mc)

DA8 - 4D w/ B16A Engline. grade: Xsi ONLY

the “i” in the different grades mean PGM-FI (Fuel Injection)

haha, HERE I AM AGAIN!!!

All chassis designations are to be preceded by an ‘E’. So our tegs would therefore be known as the E-DA6.

Not according to the VIN or the way the Helm’s manual describes the VIN. I know/remember that you have been preaching on this for a long time, but I have never seen this anywhere else but from a few members on this board. Care to explain?

Nice… my friend gave me a front radiator suport for my car (since mine needs to be replaced) and the plaque on it says “DA-7” with no engine specification on it. I wondered where it came from, now I know

My friend also gave me a few DA-6 plaques… I thought about throwing one on my door jam for the hell of it… :stuck_out_tongue:

i feel like i’m watching Sesame Street with all dem ‘alpha’ codes … BTW----GS-R jus sounds tuff …

By the looks of your avatar, I’d say you have one in your garage.

yeah its just a chassis code. stupid civic guys think they’re cool or something when they refer to their car by the chassis code. i think its just gay.

E-DA9(no DA9 in Japan btw) is correct. Actual chassis code on my car registration does say E-DA6.

People in Japan refers to chassis code all the time with popular cars. DA6, DC2, EF9, EG6, R33, R36(skylines), etc… I was caught by surprised when I overheard my friends talk about cars…

I think its not that bad of an idea because with the chassis code, you know the generation and roughly when the car was made. Instead of saying “Oh I drive a 1992 Acura Integra GSR”, you just say I drive a DA6. of course, if you drive a Toyota Tercel, then no one will know your chassis code then…

I know R31, R32, R33, R34 and even the R35… But wtf is a R36? Never heard of that one before… :stuck_out_tongue:

And don’t forget about EK9 R!!

Sigh. You would drive a DB2, not a DA6. Just a friendly reminder.

and DB1 is the USDM 4DR
