what to do for engine managment

ok just wondering what you guys are using for enginemanagment, stand alone pigg backs or what, i have a obd0 car and was wondering if i should convert it to obd1 and go hondata or stay with obd0 and use something like a zdyne ecu any help would be apreciated

i would convert to obd1 and do an uberdata stand alone

what are the advantages and disadvantages of using uberdata not really familiar with it thanks

Why don’t you try turboedit? Thats what I’m gonna do.

Turbo edit is not as stable as Uberdata

Convert it to obd1 and go uberdata,

Uberdata always has problems. I ahven’t ehard many problems with Turboedit

This is just plain false. TurboEdit works just fine. I use it on my Turbo Teg and I’ve never had problems with it.

I’ve never had problems with Uberdata and been using it for the past year and a half. I currently run it in my teggy.

Umm, sorry - try again.

Uberdata is about as stable as my IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)

My advice is if you are non-vtec, stay OBD0, spend less money, less headaches and run TurboEdit.

If you are VTEC or a higher HP built type motor…OBD1 has more options. Crome is more stable than Uber most definitely but then you also have choices such as Hondata, Neptune…

BRE is also a major up and comer for VTEC OBD0 Honda Engine Management

Ok, thanks for clearing this up for me :bang:

I may have missunderstood a source I was reading,

I am also obd0 and was going to convert as I have heard that Uberdata has more options than Turboedit,

Guess I have much more research before I decide,

Thanks, later

is bre any good is anyone running it, and what do i need to do to the ecu and where do i get the parts for the rom editing

BRE is good, developed by one of the moderators here in fact. It is still being developed daily and is turning into a great tuning option.

You need to chip the ECU, and if you need the part to do it…

i’ve been running uberdata in my teg when i was all motor and now with a turbo. i’ve never had any issues with it. crome is a very nice program but for a price. uberdata is free. i dunno. i suppose it is in the eye of the beholder, both will pretty much do whatever tuning needs u require.

i recently downloaded BRE and have been playing with it. seems very easy to use, i like the right click options for changing values. im supposed to be programming a local kids’s pr3, so im anxious to see how bre functions.

I’ve been using TurboEdit for the longest and will upgrade to the lates version of it. Best thing for OBD0s

i have run Turboedit, Uberdata, Zdyne (Binhacker), and stock Honda ECU…

my stock GSR with stock ECU runs the best  cuz Honda knows there shit…

Zdyne comes in second, free of hickups, short on options like datalogging accually costs money

Uberdata was nice, not sure if the problems i was having where with UD or my setup

TurboEdit, fine on my turbo D16A6, ‘ok’ on my D16Z6 (took a while for VTEC code to be there), ok on my turbo LS up to 10psi with more tuning im sure it would have been fine. but i was having issuse above 10psi on anything but old ass versions of TE (and old versions would have slight drivablity issues). on my LSVTEC…fine at 10psi (same as above).

i have tuned a couple of other cars on TE with like mild boosted D-series with good sucsuess, they claim there cars are fine. but they arent running whatever version of the code that was working well on my turbo LS.

so my suggestion for VTEC would be: OBD1 is the shit… jumper harness are on ebay/honda-tech/here(xenocron ;)) for like 100bucks or make your own for like 5-25bucks, get an OBD1 dizzy, chipped “P28” and your set… (screw the 4-wire O2)

what about Crome for OBD1? i have heard many having great results with that, and i plan on using that when the GSR project gets off the ground…

Hey, I like BRE too. Aaaand the boost code works well. I havent had any complaints yet aside from a few small ones that havent been reproducable (an no one gives me logs! dammit). A guy recently even made 300whp on his b16 at 10.8lbs with it.

Ben

where could a site be located to at least find info on uberdata and stuff, cuz ive been only persuaded towards hondata and never heard of bre uberdata and turboedit,
sorry for thread stealing:uhoh:
