I need a 1/2" mild steel header flange for a b16. Does anyone know where I can buy one? The reason I need it is to space the header away from the block a little. Otherwise my turbo doesnt fit. I plan on welding the two flanges together, so I won’t need to worry about another gasket. The other hard part is going to be finding some studs that’ll be long enough and strong enough. Thanks.
Here you can see what I mean. With the turbo already spaced 1/2in out, i’ll still need to remove that tab on the block and then I’ll have to make an intake tube so I can put a filter on somewhere where there is enough room.
Check out Road Race Engineering. They carry all sorts of flanges.
yea, they do have a lot of usefull diy parts, unfortunately nothing Honda specific.
This sounds like a bad idea. Are you sure shaving the block won’t solve your problem?
My bad, I thought I remember them having honda stuff too. I know I have seen them for sale, I just can’t remember where. I’ll get back to you when I can remember.
Yep, Im quite sure. Look at the pics and imagine the turbo 1/2in closer to the block. There is only so much i can take off the block before the hole for a tranny bolt is no good.
SSAutochrome :bang:
search h-t.com someone on there makes these flanges. I forget the name but, I think it starts with an E.
Wouldnt it just be easier to cut off and reweld the Turbo flange on the manifold…I mean, thats where the problem is…wrong bandaid solution IMHO.
Yea, Im not sure if I still want to do it the way I said before. I can cut the manifold and dp myself and tack them in place, but i need to find someone who can do a decent weld, preferably with stainless steel.
that would be perfect…except I don’t know if 3/8 would give me the clearence I need. I’ll re-measure and get back to you. Thanks.
