im looking for this pipe, the one with the bov flange on it, I have all my intercooler pipes except that one and I even have an hks bov so it would be perfect. I tried to get hold of the guy selling it but he wont reply back to his thread
make ur own or try and find an HKS kit for a DA with one in it (if there even is such thing)
i could do it for u, i got aMig welder with an aluminum gun
well when i got my hks it is affixed to a piece of pipe about 6 inches long, but that would require a coupler on each side, and i wanted it to be kind of clean, like the pic, and im not even sure of the material the pipe is made of, its magnetic, and i dont think stainless steel is magnetic, i believe mild steel is, and im not sure about aluminum
that pipe just looks like a cold air intake with the hks flange on it. My k&n typhoon intake is what I used for some piping and welded my greddy flange to it.
i see what your sayin, i could just find an ebay cai, i just dont want to be running 2.25 inch piping up the the cai and then run 3 inches
ditto on that, that pipe is just an ebay 1piece CAI pipe
is aluminum magnetic?
No, its not magnetic.
is there even a 2.5 cold air intake out there. I know a buddy of mine has one that he purchased off ebay like 4 years ago??
the pipe in the pic is probably 2.5" most of the ebay 1pc CAI are that size while the Short Ram’s are generally 3" piping
i found a few yesterday that were 2.5"
Any links. I have e-mail everyone of those guys that sell those intakes and they all reply that there 3"
never mind. found one
Good call… there is a significant amount of airspeed/turbulence created by doing this, I had a 2.5" CAI got it from a local shop for like 28 bucks or something… ended up buying a shortram cause it was sooo simple, My ic piping consists of 1 90, 1 180, and a short ram
you can even jbweld a flange on without problems
I have 2.25" from turbo to intercooler. Then from intercooler to intake, I have 3 different size pipes, 2.25" to 2.5", then 2.5" to 3". Currently I am running 13.7 @ 9psi with extreamly crappy/old tires (spinning through first and almost all of second gear). Here is a small pic of my piping. Currently taking the car apart to paint.
ok so i got my cold air intake, but how should i go about plugging the 2 holes near the throttle body, that are usually meant for the valve cover but no longer used because of the application of boost
one of them should still be used, get (or make) a catch can. run a hose from the pipe to it, and then a hose from it to the valve cover. i’m told its not necessary to to this, but if i were you, i’d just go to advance auto or autozone (any auto parts store will be fine) and look around for a bit till you find rubber covers for them. they look kinda like long nipples lol. i think they only cost me like $3. i might still have some, it came with four, and i only needed one. if i find them, email me your address and i’ll just mail em to you, if you can’t find any.
just look around the section of the auto parts store that sells air filters and intake parts/accessories and you should find em.
no no, you dont want to put pressure into the catch can, you want to pull vaccuum, I will get no vaccuum on a charge pipe, for the catch can I would want to run a line to the pre turbo intake

I may try to cut them off and have them welded over or jb weld it up hmt style
