Which integra version came with ALL painted moldings?

I was looking on ebay, and found a 1990 LS integra that was stated as “Museum quality” and had original body and paint.
Well my question is, shouldnt all 90’ LS integra’s have black painted moldings?
The only ones ive seen with painted matched moldings are GSR integra’s and people told me LS Specials had them too.
Also another thing to add, someone pointed out this car had a white painted grill aswell.
Didnt every integra come with painted black grill? Regardless of color or version.?

I feel like this guy is giving wrong facts about his car.

Heres the link guys

They all had black moldings in 91, even the LS Specials did in that year. The 93 LS Specials had painted moldings. The grill has also been painted. I can’t see the whole grill in the picture though. The front lower lip has been painted also. I think the mirrors should be be black also.

Yes, his info is wrong. Says that the moldings were painted to look like an LS-S. the 90 to 91 LS-S did not have painted moldings, only the door handles, mirrors and wheels were painted white. Some were painted by the dealers when the optional aero kits were added.

The only models that came from the factory with painted moldings were the 92-92 GSR and LS-S.

I don’t think there’s enough we can see with the front grill. That center “bar” in the grill is supposed to be color matched but the rest of the grill should be black.

I was under the impression that the 90-91 LS-S came with black mirrors - that ALL 90-91’s had black mirrors regardless of trim level. But after a little more searching I think you’re right that the LS-S did have painted mirrors in 90-91.

Door handles are irrelevant though ALL models, EXCEPT the RS, for ALL years had color matched door handles.

COLIN, if you look at the 9th picture carefully, you can see the piece of the grill. So you can see it is not black.

I messaged him and told him his info is slightly wrong, and he responded saying he has dealt with 100 hondas and says he knows his stuff and is a true enthusiast.
So i dont know.

That’s the pic I’ve been looking at, that piece of the grill is supposed to be color matched. Look at the red car I posted in my previous post - see how that center “bar” is color matched? His whole grill might be painted, I’m just saying that we can’t say for sure from the pics we have available because the part we can see comes painted from the factory. Here’s a better pic to illustrate what I’m talking about:

Colin i know exactly what you mean now. Im so use to owning cars with all white everything. Silly me, but yea. But basically car has been repainted.

Don’t worry, when I saw that pic I assumed the grill had been painted as well. I had to google some pics to confirm and found that the center piece was color matched. At a minimum the moldings were painted. The pics aren’t super high quality so it’s hard to say for sure, but the paint does look pretty damn good regardless of whether it’s mainly original or if it’s a respray. I didn’t see any overspray except in one pic but I can’t tell if it’s glare or overspray.

10k? Seriously?

Crack smoking prices along the lines with the $ 900.00 OEM full bra in the for sale forums! Or the $ 900.00 OEM CRX mats on EBay.

^The CRX stuff doesn’t surprise me anymore. There is a LOT more demand for that chassis than for the DA. There have already been multiple ebay sales of CRX’s around the $10k mark. But he’ll never get that for his DA, I doubt he’ll even get half that. If it were a 92-93 GSR then I wouldn’t be surprised if it went over $5k, but not for a 91 LS regardless of condition.

I hear you on the prices on some of the DA rare parts but I have seeing more and more aftermarket reproduction parts so it will drive the prices down!

It may drive them down, but what is important is that hopefully we can save some cars. I’m talking specifically about OEM replica stuff. What we really need is the environment like with old muscle cars where you can order a whole car from a catalog and put it together. It will drive some prices down and there will be negative effects for sure but what’s happening now is people are unable to fix and restore their cars so they are scrapping them and buying something else. There are hardly any parts left that you can buy from the dealer and this leaves you with either having to find something at a junkyard or used online - and in many cases with things like weather stripping, rubber grommets, glass… those parts are already well worn. It’s nearly impossible to take a DA and restore it using OEM parts right now unless your car is already in really good condition and most parts can be refinished.

I am glad that I started stockpiling parts for my CRX 10 years ago. I have every piece of exterior trim, gaskets and seals with the exception of one the rubber trim on the lower hatch glass. I have 2 extras from salvage, but they are not the same as NIB OEM. Many of the parts that I have are long discontinued like the sunroof panel & seal, bumper covers, fenders, heater controls and door trim. Every time I am out cutting the grass people ask to buy the Rex, but it is not for sale ( just like my LS-S).

10k US might be a bit high but in other countries that might be a realistic price. In Canada finding a DA that clean is impossible. Here you’d have to buy a decently clean one with some minor rust and get it repaired and resprayed. In the end you’re paying around 10k if not more for something that has rust repair. You guys in the southern states aren’t used to rust issues so for sure it seems ridiculously high for you guys.

Do you have any examples of a DA actually selling for a price that high? Your point seems valid, but I still can’t believe the demand exists yet.

I wish I’d been in a position to do that with DA parts :frowning:

Well that is a good point. I am wondering what trim and other small bits and pieces are worth keeping off my second car I bought for parts (with rust and a blown headgasket). I was under the impression that pretty much close to everything was still available for these cars… :frowning:

And just to stay ontopic, the molding on 90 or 93 LS versions were all unpainted (black), but the 93 has the color matched mirrors. At least mine are like that.

My 93 LS has color matched mirrors too and black moldings.
