whats going people…i just bought a 90 teg last week and the dealer said that it was a GS but i thought that this trim came with a sunroof and mines doesn’t. if it is in fact not a GS how could i tell which trim i have. its a 4 door sedan. any info will be most appreciated. thanks.
Did you buy it from an Acura dealer? You could always call another Acura Dealership and give them your VIN and they can tell you.
no i got it from a used car lot. is there anything on the VIN # itself that could tell me which trim i have?
Check the 8th digit in your vin. it should be a 6 for gs or 7 for gs with leather. I dont believe any of the 4 doors came with sunroofs in 90.
I have 90 GS 4 door and doesn’t have sunroof or leather seats I think the sunroof started in 91 don’t know about leather seats.
If I remember correctly my car has a badge on the back… 
Will this not help you any? Are you concerned that the badge me be switched? Do you have power windows and locks?
Usually the non-vtec w/ power windows is GS.
thanx alot fellas. i do have a 6 as the eighth digit on the VIN #. Out of curiousity, what kind of setups are you guys and gals running (engine, suspension, audio, etc…)? Right now im bone stock except for a pioneer DEH 9300 head unit and pioneer components. i plan to get either (2) 12" JL’s or (3) 10" JL’s depending on the budget along with sum kind of amps. later

In 1990, the sunroof was an option on the GS… Mine has one! 
In the US Honda doesn’t make sunroofs optional by themselves, only by trim groups. The US always gets jipped

Why is it two other US 90 gs cars don’t have a sunroof, but yours does . Answer is in Canada not the US. They may have sunroofs optional like he replied but i dont know I live in the US where they are not. In the US Honda has trim packages not individual options like other car makers. 91 gs 4dr does have sunroof

just about every car company has a model with a factory installed sunroof.
Please post a close up picture of your sunroof inside and out, open and closed so we can clear this up. Check the production date, it could be late 90 when models are changing over.
what about moonroofs? my 90 ls has a moonroof.

i heard that a sunroof weighs 65 lbs? wouldn’t it be bad to have excess weight, so far up above where you want the center of gravity to be? So if you don’t have a sunroof you should be sorta happy =O) I mean hey, stick your head out the side window if you miss the sun too much, haha.

I think a sunroof slides all the way, and a moonroof just pops up?
a moonroof retracts into the body of the car, out of sight, while the sunroof slides above.

I thought that a moonroof was not glass i.e. it is the same colour as the car(metal).The sunroof is glass i.e. it lets the sun in?That’s my 3.5 cents(Canadian)

I’m with h3ap… moonroof = glass with sunshade (you can look at the moon w/o getting cold) sunroof = non-see-through metal, plastic, etc…
